Worth the Money
I initially passed over these lights because I’m not an Apple product user and have no intention of using Apple Home Kit. I had wired another brand of smart switches throughout my entire house that were maybe 15% cheaper but I could also find them at Home Depot. The switches I installed were not compatible with my local network and home automation software. They also dropped network connection everyday, the app was cheap and barely worked, and the dimming stuttered. So I bought these Kasa switches and other 3-Way switches, and just finished installing all of them. It is anmight and day difference. Kasa app is extremely easy to use, the options for customization are amazing, the operation of the dimmer is so smooth it’s easy on the eyes.Better yet, they are all working with a third party home automation program I was hoping to use.If you are in the market and hoping to add Kasa products to your home just buy these. Save yourself the hassle of buying, installing, uninstalling, and returning cheaper alternatives.

Works great with Siri
Found Kasa is a dependable substitute for some other brands and a great value. Nice options for setting schedules. Easy installation and quality assembly.

Great product and company
TP link / Kasa products are fantastic. Easy install and work flawlessly. I use with Apple HomeKit and have almost 24 of their smart devices running. Both my wife and I enjoy the ease of controlling so may lights and outlets remotely.AAAA++++

Great item for a great price! Cheaper and has more features than Lowes!
I recently added recessed LED lights in my room and was looking for a dimmer switch (not necessarily looking for a smart one at the time), so I went to Lowe’s and was shocked that the cheapest most basic dimmer switch they had was freaking $30, and their smart switches push anywhere from $80+ !! Nope! Not gonna work for me chief. So then the good ole’ Amazon search came in and I found this TPLink Kasa dimmer for only $20 AND ITS A SMART DIMMER?? Say no more, I bought it.Ease of installation is extremely straight forward (even for those who are afraid of DIY, the directions are extremely easy to follow and have photos and videos online if needed), I got this bad boy plugged in and working within 5 minutes, synced up to their smart app on my iPhone and linked to the Home(homekit) app. I tell ya what, I didn’t think I would like having a smart switch, but it’s awesome to be able to set a schedule for a light. Like for my situation, I had it set to SLOWLY fade INTO light at 5:00AM when I get ready for work. It’s a huge relief slowly waking up to light rather than just flick on the light and BOOM BRIGHTNESS BLINDNESS. It’s also pretty neat when I’m across the room away from the switch I can talk to my iPhone and say “Hey siri, dim my lights by 30%” and it happens immediately without delay. I freaking love this thing and absolutely recommend for others to try it!Now the ONE problem that I ran into in the two weeks that I’ve had this switch is, at ONE point in time the switch “lagged out” or disconnected itself from my phone and was unresponsive. I removed the faceplate from the switch and for whatever reason it immediately linked to my phone and was working perfectly again. All in all, I give this bad boy a 9/10 as it’s extremely budget friendly, especially when looking for a smart switch that has this amount of features!

Make sure you have a neutral wire!
Kasa doesnât disappoint. I have their plugs all over my house and have had zero issue setting up or using their products. If it says Matter then itâs Apple compatible. Use the Kasa app to set it up so you get the latest firmware, then add it to your HomeKit. Couldnât be easer. I will say that I did get an electrician to install it because I was a bit intimidated by the spaghetti bowl of wires that was inside the electrical box. I probably could have done it but working with electrical stuff always makes me a bit nervous lol.

They work great IFâ¦
1-They are connected correctly. Don’t connect them the way you “think” they go, use a meter or a voltage tester on existing wiring. It has to be connected correctly.2-Set up a separate 2.4 G network. Don’t try connecting into your regular Wi-Fi. Create a new Wi-Fi network on your router and call it something else. Do not add 5G to it, only 2.4.They seem to integrate well with Apple HomeKit, Brilliant Lighting and Control4.I know this only because I am an install tech and have been dealing with the Headache that goes along with this crap for 20+ years.

Great if it works, but terrible manufacturer customer service
Got this single one and a 3 pack to install 4 dimmer switches. 3 of them worked totally fine and hooked up to wifi no problem. This one didn’t. Tried tons of things, reseting it, putting error internet temporarily on only 2.4 gHz, switching it with another switch would never connect to the internet only connected to my blue tooth and setup always failed. The switch still worked but not the smart capabilities. I had registered with manufacturer and tried to do their warranty. They made me jump through lots of hoops to get them to send me a replacement device, but then wanted me to pay money first to send them the defective one. I no longer had the old switch this was on which would mean I would have to go buy a switch to use temporarily until I got a new smart switch. I opted to do the return through Amazon which is free drop off at locations after I ordered and received a replacement.Customer service with manufacturer was not very responsive and seemed to be trying to over complicate the troubleshooting directions in hopes you wouldn’t follow one step and they could get out of replacing. Was disappointed that they wanted me to pay for having to send them back their defective product.
