𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐇𝐢-𝐅𝐢 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝: The Ellipse is designed around a new premium 50mm dynamic driver engineered to deliver the highest audio quality. The driver features custom made PU and PEK composite diaphragms with ultra-pure copper ring. The driver is powered by a custom CCAW High-Tension voice coil and strong N42 High-Performance magnets.
𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬: The driver as well as the acoustics of the headphone housing has been meticulously tuned to sound balanced and natural. The lows have a strong impact with sensational rumble and body. The low-mids have a rich warmth that is free of bloat and an accurate vocal and instrument tonality. The trebles are compensated to match the human ear’s acoustics that mirror the perceived tonal balance from stereo speakers. The Ellipse’s tuning profile is perfect for those wanting to sit back and immerse themselves in their music.
𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞: To bring the most life-like soundstage and imaging performance, the Ellipse is designed as an open-back headphone. The open-back design allows greater airflow into the drivers, allowing greater depth in the lows, more airy trebles, and a wider soundstage. While an open-back headphone has lower outside-noise isolation, it is the most tried-and-true way to achieve true stereo speaker-like musical experience.
𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧: The Ellipse is designed to be lightweight and comfortable for extended listening sessions. The headband has a thick padding made of vegan-leather. The vegan-leather earpads are specially designed to enhance the bass response of the drivers while being plush and comfortable.
𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧: The Ellipse features a detachable cable design with a 3.5mm plug and a 6.3mm adapter plug. The detachable design allows users to customize their sound and wearing experience, allow greater adaptability to different devices, as well as extend the longevity of the headphones.

Excellent sound and build quality
These are excellent headphones which punch way above their price bracket. I love buying/collecting affordable headphones and these are up there in terms of just pure sound quality. The build is metal and feels well on the head, very comfortable, not too heavy. Sound is very balanced with great detail. Although I would prefer a slightly stronger low end but canât complain. Comparing to ATH M50-X and Phillips SHP-9500, the kiwi is levels above, with more detail and better soundstage.

I love the beautiful Audio I get from the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Open-Back Headphones. Enjoy!
I have over 25-years in IT. Every once-in-a-while I get really excited and curious when I find a 50mm Open-Back Headphone, at this incredibly ridiculous Low Price, that rivals the typical Audiophile Grade mainstay Open-Backs in the $350 – $500 Range. I typically use Headphones in the $350 – $500 Range [Audiophile Grade], with a nice Flat Balanced Neutral Engineered Tone.I initially was drawn to the Eclipse, based on the following Bullet Points:First Bullet Point:[ðð±ð©ðð«ð¢ðð§ðð ðð«ð®ð ðð¢-ð ð¢ ðð¨ð®ð§ð: The Ellipse is designed around a new premium 50mm dynamic driver engineered to deliver the highest audio quality. The driver features custom made PU and PEK composite diaphragms with ultra-pure copper ring. The driver is powered by a custom CCAW High-Tension voice coil and strong N42 High-Performance magnets.]Linsoul is known for making excellent 50mm Drivers. I really like this New Series. At first I got a somewhat Muted tone across the spectrum, Bass was slightly depressed and the High end was accentuated. This is rather typical, prior to the Drivers loosening up before the Burn-In [see below].After about 24 hours of Burn-In time [see below] the Drivers loosened-up, these Headphones gave me nearly that same balanced tone [as Audiophile Grade Headphones], with a wider sound-stage [particularly due to the Open-Back Design – which always expands versus the Closed-Back that typically constraints] and more precise imaging of all instruments and vocals, These are perfect for my use, also for Gamers and Musicians. The Bass and Vocals are nearly precise, without either overwhelming. Do not get me wrong, the Bass is present and strong, but is in harmony with all frequencies, every detail can be heard. You just need to be patient, they do get considerably better after a bit of time. All this is subjective [everyone has their own audio preference].I do have to note that these [as all Headphones] require about 40-hours of use [generally referred to as a Burn-In Period] for the Drivers to loosen up to reach their full potential [This also means they will get Louder as well]. These only needed about 24-hours [not consecutive, just overall time of use]. I much prefer just using the Headphones [rather than forcing them], you will hear the Drivers loosen up over time.Second Bullet Point:[ð ð¥ð¨ð¨ð«ð¬ððð§ðð¢ð§ð ðð©ððð¤ðð« ðð®ð§ð¢ð§ð ð¢ð§ ð ððððð©ð¡ð¨ð§ðð¬: The driver as well as the acoustics of the headphone housing has been meticulously tuned to sound balanced and natural. The lows have a strong impact with sensational rumble and body. The low-mids have a rich warmth that is free of bloat and an accurate vocal and instrument tonality. The trebles are compensated to match the human earâs acoustics that mirror the perceived tonal balance from stereo speakers. The Ellipseâs tuning profile is perfect for those wanting to sit back and immerse themselves in their music.]These do have a beautiful Tuning, which is more evident after the Burn-In process.Third Bullet Point:[ðð«ð¢ð§ð ðð¨ð®ð« ðð®ð¬ð¢ð ðð¨ ðð¢ðð: To bring the most life-like soundstage and imaging performance, the Ellipse is designed as an open-back headphone. The open-back design allows greater airflow into the drivers, allowing greater depth in the lows, more airy trebles, and a wider soundstage. While an open-back headphone has lower outside-noise isolation, it is the most tried-and-true way to achieve a true stereo speaker-like musical experience.]The Noise-Isolation is pretty good, as very little of the Audio is leaked to the outside. I still would not recommend an Open-Bak Design for Studio work.Fifth Bullet Point:[ðððððð¡ððð¥ð ðððð¥ð ððð¬ð¢ð ð§: The Ellipse features a detachable cable design with a 3.5mm plug and a 6.3mm adapter plug. The detachable design allows users to customize their sound and wearing experience, allow greater adaptability to different devices, as well as extend the longevity of the headphones.]I recently had a conversation with Linsoul Support [via the Amazon Vendor schema – available on the right of every item page]:_________________Hello Cxxx:Can I presume that the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Over Ear Headphone supports a Balanced Cable [4.4mm]? Your answer was a bit vague, I am only asking to clarify. I currently use a dual 3.5mm [TS] to 4.4mm [TRRS] [Name-Brand 3rd Party] Balanced Cable [with my F**O FT-* Headphones – see attached Image], it looks like it will fit, if the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Over Ear Headphone supports a Balanced Cable [4.4mm]? I appreciate your kindness and time with this Cxxx.Dear Customer,Thank you for your patience. After confirming with the manufacturer, the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Over-Ear Headphones have dual 3.5mm connectors, so they may not be compatible with a dual 4.4mm balanced cable. We apologize for the confusion earlier. If you are using a dual 3.5mm — 4.4mm plug cable, that should work fine with these headphones. Thanks again for reaching out, and please ask if you have any further questions!Have a nice dayï¼Best Regards,CxxxLinsoul Customer SupportI can confirm the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Over Ear Headphone supports a Balanced Cable [4.4mm] [see Image below]. I used a small [Name-Brand] DAC/AMP with 4.4mm [TRRS] Input and got true Lossless Audio from my Dell Latitude 7410 Chromebook. You may want to research the difference between 3.5mm Non-Balanced and 4.4mm Balanced Cables, it will surprise you._________________I love the beautiful Audio I get from these Linsoul Kiwi Ears Ellipse Over Ear Headphones. A worthy contender in the crowded budget circumaural category
When I first got these, they reminded me most of my venerable pair of Samson SR850s, at least in terms of the overall form factor: well-padded semi-open circumaurals with 50mm drivers. Obviously there are a lot of other venerable models with this same form factor, both presently and historically; the 850s themselves are really rebranded Superluxes that in turn were modeled on the “timeless” AKG K240s, and lots of other headphones like the Beyer DT770-990 range are at least comparable. It’s kind of a bold move to bring out a set of phones in this form factor and price range, because there are already a lot of very established competitors. At first, after plugging in, I was not super blown away with the Linsouls. I went ahead and did the thing I don’t really believe in, which is burn-in. It does seem to make a difference with some phones, I hate to admit it, and I wanted to give my review set a fair shake. Usually I just plug brand new phones into a source with something playing continuously at a volume that would be fairly high but not insufferable were they on my head, and then toss the whole shebang in a corner where I won’t bothered by its leaked signal for 12-24 hours.Plugging back in after this brute-force burn-in process, the Kiwi Ears were much better, especially in the lowest octaves where they had felt oddly very constricted right out the box, and clearly a good performer worthy of their price tag overall. I will say, though – they still just weren’t blowing me away off the bat. They were very comfortable for long wear, despite being a bit heavier than a lot of other phones in their class, and were easy to forget on my head after a while.I would like to mention, the comfort and “easy-to-forgetness” is diminished a tad by a questionable design choice: Linsoul’s selection of a detachable Y-cable, i.e. a stereo cable from the source that turns into two mono 1/8″ plugs to each individual driver. I would have much, MUCH preferred a single detachable stereo port on the left side, and generally expect this from modern on-ear phones once they get much past the very lowest price rung. I suspect most consumers in 2025 would expect this too, so I wanted to point this out: If you buy the Kiwi Ears, you’re going to have a wire running up each side of your head, not just one.For desktop-bound use or critical listening, I’ll admit that the Y-cable isn’t that big of a deal, just occasionally irritating. It’s not like this aspect ever stops me from using IEMs or Koss KSC75s. Unlike those examples, the Linsoul-provided Y-cable is quite long (about 10 feet / just over 3 meters), which of course can be good or bad too depending on your application, but for this style of phones I feel it’s nice to have a long cable. I don’t especially love the woven fiber insulator jacket either, although lots of folks like those / think they feel classy or whatever. As for the sound? I would describe them as a generally neutral-sounding phone with satisfying if not exactly jaw-dropping low end coverage, more on the relaxed side, coming quite alive with detail retrieval when pushed just a little harder. Compared to the SR850s, which at the time of this writing are much cheaper, the Kiwis have less brightness and a more even midrange presence and voicing. This means the 850s are a bit more U-shaped, but I wouldn’t describe the 850s as a “party headphone” either – they are targeted as a budget studio headphone and they’re quite successful at meeting the needs of that target. The Kiwis do have a more “natural” voicing than the 850s which works very well with classic analog recordings (and, I guess, _The Nightfly_ which I listened to a lot while testing these, as one does when testing new phones or speakers; it’s the law, after all).As I spend more time with the Kiwi Ears, I’m finding I like them much more. I still wish they were not Y-cabled, and the biggest drawback for me is that their not-terrible-but-definitely-not-great level of semi-open leakage renders them more or less out of the running for use in my open-plan office space. But I will keep them around and I think they may end up my favorites just for closed-eye full-album listening on the couch. They are very easy to wear and very easy to listen to, especially if you are someone who likes to turn it up a little more.If you prefer a brighter phone or want a shock-and-awe skull pulverizer for EDM, I think you might have better choices out there, but the Kiwi Ears are “growers” and nice all rounders for all genres; that’s a serious asset in and of itself.Giving four stars only for the current price (which, while not at all unfair or unreasonable for what you get, is about 20-25% too high right now by my own market assessment) and the Y cabling. I’d very quickly bring it up to five if either thing were to change in the future.

Customer Review –
The headphones look and feel good quality. The manufacturing build is excellent. The detatchable cable is braided; so no problems with twisting cables and possible damage. The cable arrives with the 6.3mm adapter jack in place. This unscrews to reveal the 3.5mm jack. Both ends of the cable make clean and secure connectionsOn the head, the headphones are very comfortable even after long periods of listening. Overall I would describe the headset as being a little lighter in weight than others. This probably helps with the comfort along with the well cushioned headband and earpads. The earpads are a close fit around the ears with minimal pressure on the ears. The sound quality is excellent across the sound spectrum. Trebles are crystal clear and sharp. The bass is deep and throaty. Even at the hightest sound level (that I am prepared to use), there is no distortion.I hope you found this review useful. If you have a question, I always try to respond when Amazon forwards them to me.

I received my new Kiwi ears headphones and I am very impressed with the build and the sound, they look a bit like Beyerdynamic headphones which I am ok with. It comes with a 3-meter cable I would liked to have seen the headphones come with a 4-foot cable as well.

These Over Head phones are wired ( so not Wireless ) BUT they souund amazing. In box you get the Studio-Grade Dynamic Driver headphones with passive noise cancellation 50mm Dynamic Driver, a long 3 MTR cable with a 3.5mm Plug and 6.3 mm adaptor plug. The headphones are super comfy to wear the ear pieces are super super soft and cradle your ears perfectly, the haed piece is also super soft and seriously light weight and that was suprising to me as the retractable stem is made of metal not plastic. These are a seriously good set of wired over head earphones. Great for gaming DJ’ing, or just listening to your fave music in an awesome experience they sound amazing, as all wired head pieces do imho, and also due to the open back design, great depth in Lows and airy trebles, seriously feels like your at a concert whilst listening to music which i love. Gaming sound effects are awesome and i watched a High Action movie with these on and seriously i was so into the movie i felt like i was at the Cinema lol. If you dont mind Wired Headphones I highly recommed this set ðð
