    Magic, with realistic expectations
I share an apartment with an elderly female Ragdoll mix that is really a dragon. She’s sweet and terrifying, and with age she’s lost some of her padding, and her bones are closer to the surface. Stiff bristles can hurt her, and more care needs to be taken during grooming not to tug on her coat and looser skin.As she’s gotten older, she doesn’t groom herself as thoroughly. It’s become even more important that we stay on top of it, because when we don’t, she’ll get small mats in places. I’m so glad I decided to buy this brush. She will run over when she see’s me holding it, and sit down, her back to me, and wait patiently.Reasons we love it:1. Soft boar bristle brushes are great for distributing the natural oils produced by the skin throughout the coat. My cat’s coat is shinier, and appears more full. She also gets a little dander at the base of her tail because, as she’s gotten older, spots like this have become harder to reach. Since using this brush, this condition has improved a good deal. I’m guessing it in part has to do with the redistributed natural oils moisturizing the skin.2. She likes it so much, it’s not just maintenance she’ll put up with awhile, and then escape from. I feel like we’re not just grooming now, we’re bonding. Someone else described it as a massage for cats, but my old dragon regresses and acts kittenish.3. The soft bristles don’t seem to hurt her when used around her bony or tender spots. I have a steel comb we’ve used for years. I find that when I alternate this brush with the comb, she’s more amenable to being fussed over, and our grooming sessions are longer and more productive.4. Soft boar bristle brushes aren’t really supposed to strip dead hair from the undercoat, so don’t expect that when you see “Deshedding Tool.” We still get results though. In addition to the gains and improvements mentioned above, we do get respectable clumps of hair for the bin during a session. Cleaning is pretty easy. I use the wide bristles of my steel comb to lift hair up and out of the brush bristles.5. This seems to be well made. The wood handle is nicer in my opinion than plastic alternatives. I also feel like the boar bristles reduce the static that nylon bristles would cause. Fair price for the quality I received.Verdict: It’s been tested on two different cats, one adult with short hair, and one senior with long, and they both LOVE it. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone. Use it with kittens or adoptees that need to get used to being groomed. Use it with seniors or convalescing cats that need the softness. You really can’t go wrong.

    Great Daily Brush
Soft bristles to the touch that are firm and effective. Nice quality wood feel. Slightly smaller than most human hairbrushes, which is good for me since I’m starting with a kitten, but it’s still large enough for adult cats.Only thing to note based on other reviews: as a bristle brush, this does not replace specific combs for dematting or deshedding the undercoat. Good for daily brushing, hygiene + preventative care.

Good brush. Discharge static between strokes when the air is dry!!
I bought this for my little cat. She has fine, extremely soft fur. The construction of the brush is sturdy, it feels smooth to the touch, and the little gold cat printed on the handle is cute.My cat initially liked it a lot. If you tossed a treat across the room she would glance over at the treat but then present herself to get brushed some more. But a few days later, she’s not a fan anymore.** I don’t know if the brush is to blame, though, or if something else is going on. But she only wants to be brushed on her cheeks. If I brush her sides or back more than once with this brush she jumps up and grabs it like she’s trying to make me stop. Also, it is shedding bristles. I know that’s natural with non-plastic teethed brushes, and maybe that’s part of making a healthy brush that’s glue-free?, but I don’t need it to be shedding prickly bristles on my cat! There must be a way around that…. design-wise…**UPDATE: The brush was holding a static electric charge after I brushed a few strokes on her fur! She was not happy to get shocked. Now that the air in our house is not so dry (spring is here, yay) she is loving her brush again!I still don’t know where the fur disappears to though… there is hardly ever any to remove from the bristles. But the bristles stopped falling out, so that’s good.

Better than a metal bristle brush
I never liked the metal bristles. My cat and I both love this regular brush. It’s not too soft or too hard, just right. My cat even sleeps with it. ☺️

The cat loves it, but not much hair removal.
Our cat will not stand for wire brushes. She loves this one. I was concerned the brush was too small, but it is better than the larger brush it is replacing. The handle is shaped and comfortable in the hand. This brush is not removing much hair, but subsequent passes with the wire brush is not removing much either. It has been a mild winter thus far and neither cat is shedding much compared to previous years. If your cat does not like wire brushes this is a great alternative.

    Soft brush, good quality
She likes this brush, and it’s a good massage for her, and it does pick up some hair too! Very happy with this purchase as she’s become kind of sensitive about being brushed as she gets older.

Cats are beginning to like the top coat brushing
Cats are getting used to it. I thought it was a good change from a deshedding brush

I got this brush to use with a slicker brush – it’s not going to remove a tonne of excess hair, or get through knots, but it does pick up a surprising amount of fur and my cats who normally don’t like getting brushed absolutely love the feeling. I tap this brush and my ragdoll comes running (who was the most anti-grooming). He still tries to bite it, but will patiently let me brush until my arm gets sore while he kneads. Their coats feel so soft and smooth afterwards, this is a great brush to use in addition to whatever you use for shedding

I really wasn’t sure about this brush when I first ordered it but after using it the first time I knew my cat loved it. She’s never really had issues with matting but gets hairballs often. She hates slicker brushes and won’t sit still for a de-shedding brush so it becomes a real chores to deal with her. However with this brush, she loves it and seems to find the brushings very relaxing. The wood handle has a good finish on it and the bristles are all uniform and secure. I can see this brush lasting a long time. Definitely worth the price.

It was on a top 10 brush list so I thought I’d try it. Our cats love it and it feels like it’s good quality. It’s a nice treat after the real grooming brush (though our cats like getting brushed). Only issue is it must carry a good, strong smell bc it still takes a couple minutes to get reacquainted (aka sniff like crazy and get some chews in).

Mon chat l’adore, je recommande. Par contre si vous cherchez une brosse afin de retirer les poils morts, pas l’idéal. Je crois aussi que la brosse convient mieux au chat à poil court, mais c’est seulement mon opinion personnelle.
