AMAZING SHOES ANNOYING SHOESTRINGS
These shoes fit from the word go. The best pair of new balance I have ever owned. I have bought NB for the past 27 years. It is my go to shoe. My fave was the 1122âs and the slip on 811(they need to make them again. Their new slip ons are awful). I bought these shoes two days before a Disney trip. I walked 12 miles a day with no issues except for the shoestrings. They constantly come loose (not undone but loose) and I mean constantly. I need to find a new pair of shoestrings. I donât know if they are too slick or what. I cannot find the length of their shoestrings anywhere so I have to wait. I love the try before you buy as there isnât a new balance store near me and my models are no longer made. I bought another pair of NB at the same time as these but tried them on and immediately had rubbing by the big toe. I returned those. Hope this helps you. Oh. If you wear orthotics you will need them for this shoe. It is not as supportive as the 1122âs. Enjoy!

Why New Balance? X-Wide Widths!
It became painfully obvious that the shoe size I had ordered for years was no longer working. After an online search, I found that the New Balance website has the best foot measurement charts for men, women and children – including WIDTH measurements – that can be downloaded and printed. I discovered I needed an 8 XX-wide shoe. Unfortunately many shoe manufacturers donât offer Wide or X-Wide widths (let alone XX-Wide), but New Balance does in several styles.I ordered 3 pair, the #1540 V3 (Version 3), #877 V1 and #577 V1. Only the first two fit perfectly. They both have a SL-2 last (narrow heel, deep toe box and wide forefoot). The 577 was too tight across the top and will be returned. Iâve worn the others and theyâre so-o-o comfortable. In fact, Iâve ordered second pairs of both.Thanks to the measurement charts I also discovered that if 8 XX-Wide wasnât available, I could go up a size to 8-1/2 X-Wide for the correct width. It only adds a hardly noticeable additional 1/4â space at the toes. A second option was buying the same styles in Menâs size, but from what Iâve read, menâs shoes are wider at the heel.New Balance seems to have great reviews for most of their styles. The main complaint I find across several styles with mesh is that some develop âtoe holesâ at the big toes. Mine are still brand new, so I canât verify that. Right now Iâm able to be on my feet all day in comfort. This shoe purchase(s) has been a learning experience, and Iâm extremely happy with the outcome. A dozen pair of my old shoes are already out the door and my feet are not missing them.

New Balance is great for my wide feet. These NB are not knock-offs like the last ones I got from Amazon. They’re wide, comfortable. Wish the other navy version was available. The only complaint is that I ordered 8.5 WW, but was sent 8.5W. Annoying. Also, the orange color on the “tongue” is really obnoxious. But they fit, so I’ll keep them.

Wonderful. So thankful for Amazon having the shoe listed. The New Balance Shoe store when out of business by us and they are a special shoe per foot doctor I need with that special #. My special orthapetic pads fit in the shoes perfect.

Very disappointed
I have been wearing these for years. I was so excited years ago when I found 4E wide running shoes. I’ve had at least 3 pair. Got these and they are NOT wide. Held them up to my wore out identical pair and they are cut way skinnier. Then I read a disclaimer in the description that as of a few years ago they are not made in the USA anymore. That explains it.

They Slip when on Some Wet surfaces
These are very comfortable and give great support. I love this aspect of them. My knee and back pain went away while wearing these.My complaint—- if there is moisture on the ground, I can’t wear them. The soles slide out from under me. Trying to walk in them on wet pavement or gravel-surfaced sidewalks that are set in cement, let alone accidentally stepping on the white or yellow paint on the roads/crosswalks that are wet leave me feeling like my feet are going to fly out from under me.

The soul of it was rigid not like a comfy New Balanceâ¦It just wasnât comfortable like others Iâve had.They might work for somebody elseâs feet but not mine.Wouldnât recommend them to anyone!
