Micellar casein is a slowly digested, complete protein, with an excellent amino acid profile that typically has over 4,500 mg of branched-chain amino acids per 1 scoop serving. Because micellar casein thickens in the low pH of the stomach, slowing down its entry into the intestines, its amino acids are released in a sustained manner. Slower digestion ensures continuous availability of amino acids for the body. NOW® Micellar Casein mixes easily in your favorite beverage and is an ideal choice for sustained protein support. Add 1 level scoop daily to 8 oz. of cold water, milk, or your favorite juice. Stir or blend.

Unlocking Excellence: My 3-Year Journey with Now Sports
Absolutely trustworthy! I’ve been using Now Sports’ supplements for 3 years now, and I can’t recommend their casein protein enough. The best part? The price. It’s incredibly budget-friendly, making it accessible without compromising on quality. I’ve stuck with Now Sports for years, and their consistency and reliability never disappoint. Now, about the taste – it’s neutral. Not everyone’s cup of tea in terms of flavor, but remember, this is all about functionality. If you’re after results, taste takes a back seat here. What really seals the deal for me is their commitment to quality. They’re proudly certified under “GMP Quality Assured.” This means rigorous testing at every step, ensuring what you’re getting is top-notch.In short, Now Sports’ casein protein is a mainstay in my fitness routine. With its cost-effectiveness, my positive history with their products, and that GMP certification, it’s a supplement I fully trust. Taste isn’t the highlight, but it’s effective – and that’s what matters. If you’re after reliability, Now Sports is the way to go.

Taste/Texture not so good, but works
I use the NOW brand unflavored whey isolate to bump my protein up around 90g/d and love a scoop of that with a little (like 1/2t) sugar in milk.I got the NOW unflavored Micellar Casein on my PCP’s recommendation to help with sleep. Holy moly not the same as whey at all; it thickens much more than whey in milk and I wind up cutting in water and no amount of sugar improves what I think of as a kind of powdered milk flavor. I am not sure it’s helping with sleep as I’m just about halfway through the tub, but I will say that I am oddly hungry in the morning. Maybe it’s a little reflux drinking too close to bed? I dunno, but their whey is outstanding.

    Nice protein powder
Nice protein powder, mixes just fine, use a 16 oz glass so you can see where it’s sticking when you spoon stir it. Forget the shakers, this is pure casein protein, it’s supposed to be sticky, it has no lecithins to make it mix better. Lecithin’s aren’t a deal breaker but if you can get by without them for two extra minutes of spoon mixing do it. Don’t be lazy. If you’ve gone this far in your powder research you know to stay away from sucralose, acesulfame, even stevia. Yes stevia, just because its from a plant doesn’t mean it won’t harm you in those concentrations. Sugar is not evil. Mix in a quarter teaspoon of brown sugar and you will be happy, thats about 2 grams. Your favorite iced tea that you probably suck down with your lunch has 26 grams. Do the math. If that’s not sweet enough for you than you consume too much sugar during your day anyway, so put in a whole teaspoon. People who limit there sugar intake become sensitive to it, I look at brownies and other sugary snacks with disgust, because I’m not used to that much sugar anymore, they overload my taste buds. If you’re super hardcore than leave out the sugar entirely, you won’t mind anyway. This powder has 10mg of cholesterol and no saturated fat at all. Other types of protein isolates can have 70, 80, 100 mg of cholesterol and 3g or 5g of saturated fat, that’s alot from a single drink in your day. Buy some peanut butter powder and some cocoa powder and add how much you like to alter the taste, its not brain surgery. I look forward to drinking my shakes, sometimes more peanut buttery, sometimes more chocolatey, and sometimes I go hardcore. Its my choice.

    Super Helpful for Calorie Restriction
I use this in my protein oatmeal, protein pancakes and protein ice cream. It’s ridiculously filling and has really helped me stay within my calorie allotment. Nothing can do that for me the way casein does except for maybe chicken breast.I also add about a half teaspoon to my coffee with a splash of 1% milk, and the coffee becomes very creamy and light colored. No need for whole milk or half and half! I mix with whey protein sometimes too, but the casein is incomparable for imparting a creamy texture and pale color while filling you up for hours. I wouldn’t use it by itself as a shake, because it has kind of a weird overly milky flavor (hard to explain) when all you’re tasting is the casein. In that case, add in some whey to balance the flavor.I prefer something like this without all the additives of the typical protein powders. I always add what I want to it anyway: stevia, salt, flavorings, sometimes even xanthan gum. I prefer to do it my way, and it’s cheaper that way too.

Great Protein , will buy again
This is a great protein from a good GMP reputable company. There are some low ratings due to the taste and consistency of the product. The taste in perfectly fine. This is in unflavored which i prefer, I do not want all the junk sweeteners and flavors added in the the protein powder. If i want it to have flavor, i will add my own flavor. As far as the consistency is concerned , this is Micellar Casein which is always thicker in consistency. It is different consistency than Whey and, is a slower time release. I will definitely be purchasing this again

    Spoiled, not good
This stuff tastes seriously rotten. I taste tested next to another brand, and no I’m not sensitive. Literally smells like burning hair, and tastes horrible and spoiled. Is it casein? Probably, technically! But unless you are sprinkling this in your garden or decorating clay sculptures with this crap I don’t recommend it!Wish I didn’t buy this, there is no way to get a refund and it is probably not safe for consumption. Protein powders have gone up in price a LOT so this was tempting but I don’t recommend that you make the same mistake as I did. But you probably will and then will read this and be like man I am stupid! Now we can be friends.

    Tastes Horrible
I’m not knocking the value of a good casein protein powder. It sure does its job. However, I have to say that the taste is just horrible, cringe-inducing. It’s not “unflavored” at all. I have another NOW unflavored powder that is, in fact, unflavored; however, this Micellar Casein is not that. I try to mask it by adding Stevia drops but mostly I’m avoiding using it.
