NOW Foods Sports Nutrition, Whey Protein Isolate, 25 G With BCAAs, Creamy Chocolate Powder, 5-Pound

More pure Whey than the usual protein products from competitors
Now is a fantastic organization that started locally to me (Chicagoland area). I usually get Optimum Nutrition (ON) but started reading ingredients of ON vs Now and some other major brands and decided to give Now Whey Isolate a shot. I have used there pea protein and rice protein but never whey. They sell Now supplements at stores locally to me called Fruitful Yield which are just fantastic.The Whey Isolate is not as sweet as ON but I don’t need super sweet. If I want chocolate milk I’ll make chocolate milk. This protein mixes very well with a spoon in a glass or water. About the same as ON. Both companies are local to me so they have been around for years but ON does private labeling for local gyms so it’s all over the place. Now appears to be a higher quality product and their supplements are great quality too. I have taken Now Men’s Sport Multi Vitamins for years. This prices of this high level protein is more affordable than other top reviewed Whey Isolate protein on the market and less added fillers. Now Whey Isolate is my new go to. The taste is just fine. I chug it right down anyway. I don’t want ti call it bland, it’s simply just not as sweet as ON. I’m not looking to sip and savor my post workout protein. As stated it mixes in water easily and that’s a high priority aside from it being quality and not filled with a bunch of other crap. You get more for your money. Give it a try.

Thicker consistency, with an aftertaste, but good value
Acknowledging that taste is subjective, I agree with those that mentioned this flavor has an aftertaste. Of the dozen brands I have tried, the taste of this ranks in the bottom half. The addition of xanthan gum does give it a thicker consistency than to which I am accustomed; personally, I would prefer thickeners be left out. Sure there are better tasting whey proteins without added thickeners out there, but they are also more expensive. Overall, this product is a solid value, especially for a whey isolate, but I am unsure I would purchase again due to the taste and thicker consistency. On a side note, the unflavored version of this brand is excellent, which I have used for years.

Light Taste has real benefits
This has a very light and “fluid” or watery taste. It mixes quickly and well. At first I thought “is there anything even in this powder?” But I checked various sources and actual protien itself doesn’t have much favor. This is my first time (after about 10 years of whey use) that the drink was not like a milkshake. Yes milkshakes taste good. I enjoy them and occasionally buy one at McD, but I don’t need them every day or several times a day. I drink this quickly without “savoring” it and it goes down easily. I don’t get an aftertaste or chemical taste sensation. Plus NOW has a great reputation and track record with supplement purtity, percentage and quantity. I’m glad my last brand raised prices and caused me to try this.

Light Flavor, Affordable and No Added Junk!
All the people who are complaining about the flavor are people who are used to protein powders with flavor additives. This uses stevia and xylitol, both natural sweeteners. Of course it’s not going to taste like a lot of mainstream brands out there…This protein does it’s designed job perfectly. It’s not meant to satisfy your sweet tooth, it’s meant as a protein supplement without added junk!The chocolate flavor profile is very light and it’s just a hint. Perfect if you ask me.It mixes almost instantly upon a few shakes, the consistency is smooth and watery; absent of chunks. Goes down smooth.If you desire a bit more flavor punch and a thicker consistency, add milk and peanut butter powder. Problem solved.Recommended for anybody who cares about their health.

WPIらしく味は薄め。薄味と言えど、最近のプロテインの味が昔と比べ美味しくなっているだけで、昔のプロテインのチョコ味はこんな感じだったなという味である。
