My poodle George has collapsed trachea I am pretty sure. Steroids and other liquid medication from the vet were not working. He is about 5 pounds overweight and we are working on his diet and exercise. Every time he drinks water he coughs uncontrollably. I was researching collapsed trachea online and came across this product. I found the the product on Amazon and began to read the reviews and for the 1st time I felt hopeful. It is a pricey product but I am willing to try anything so George does not have to have surgery . The 1st couple of days I did not notice a difference but then one day he was drinking water and he did not cough up a lung after drinking! There was still a cough but it was much lighter. After that I noticed a dramatic change in his coughing after water consumption. It was so much less.. And last night he drank water and did not cough once. I will continue to use this product for George along with diet and exercise.. We live in Texas so it is blazing hot right now and getting out for walks is very hard. This is magic is magic in a bottle! He doesn’t seem to mind the flavor ether. It has brought much needed comfort to George!

Mixed feelings
The reviews were mixed and my experience was the same. My little one liked the flavor and licked the full dose. Did it help, not sure? Her cough continued for about a week and now it’s gone after about a month. the came came and went anyways so jury is still out.

The trachea honey and herb formula for dogs is terrific. My dog loves it.
The trachea honey and herb formula was something I thought I should try. The vet said my 14-year-old Jack Russell sounded like she had collapsed trachea – a disorder common in smaller dogs. Her coughing progressed to a loud honking sound, but only when she’d get excited. But then it grew to almost constant. The vet gave her Hydrocodone (formulated for pets), 2 pills X 2x per day. I only gave her 1 pill when she’d start coughing again.Then the Hydrocodone wasn’t helping as much anymore. I added the Trachea Honey to her regimen: 1 pill with a squirt of honey to help the pill down. I noticed my dog was surprised by how much she liked the taste of the honey. The honey soothed her throat, which made the coughing settle down.I went to a vet specialist to seeing about having a stent inserted in her esophagus to keep the esophagus from collapsing. The specialist suspected my dog didn’t have collapsed trachea. The specialist thought my dog might have something called bronchial collapse. “Here’s a prescription for a bronchodilator. See me in two weeks.”When I got my dog home, I gave her one of the bronchodilator meds (1 per 12 hours). In ten minutes, she was no longer coughing or honking. She wasn’t panting with her mouth hanging out, as if she couldn’t breathe.The specialist told me to cut back on her hydrocodone. Since doing so, I have my dog back. She’s not always sleeping because of the effects of the hydrocodone. Only in a great while will I hear her cough now. I give her her meds with the honey, which she gets twice her pay, just 1-1/2 tsp twice a day. It gets her to swallow her pills, and she loves the taste of it. And like how we need a lozenge for a scratchy throat, I imagine she needs one just to make her feel good.

Suggested by MY VET when I called him, B4 bringing in one of my 9 Y/O, Brother Chihuahua ‘FURBABIES/LOVES OF MY LIFE’ & potential exposure to Kennel Cough from newly rescued/adopted pups in the waiting area…While Damian has never had any probs, PERCY is prone to Tracheal Spasm/Collapse episodes…common in their Breed…& ‘triggered’ by stress & exposure to cold temps…Usually, they have been very minor/short & I have been able to relieve it by massaging his throat, but we R in SE Pennsylvania & Percy began having episodes lasting 30-45 mins/sev times a day, to the point I could tell his throat was irritated…& even when he fell asleep for short periods between episodes, his breathing was more like snoring…As soon as this was delivered I put a few drops on my finger…thinking I could/would give him more, if needed…& my VERY FINICKY Percy licked it off like it was a TREAT…& soon he fell asleep…for 6 HOURS…I now give Percy some BEFORE taking him/Damian out in our, extremely cold temps…& IF he has an episode, it lasts for less than a minute! Percy…AND I…are feeling MUCH BETTER…AND VERY GRATEFUL…He is breathing/sleeping quietly & normally, after a few days of ‘healing’…& so little works so well!! WE THANK YOU…BTW, I called my Vet back & he, too was pleased it worked as well as always…in his experience, since being made aware of it…in cases like Percy’s…’simple Tracheal Spasm/Collapse’ episodes, with related throat irritation/inflammation…HAPPY THANKGIVING/HOLIDAY SEASON!!
