    Works perfectly
This worked exactly as I needed it to so that I could control the volume on my headset while my husband sleeps. The volume control is ina very accessible place and easy to find in the dark.

Needs some fixing, but it works with few alternatives out there.
*Update* – Well one of these bit the dust. Not entirely without cause due to it getting snagged on a chair handle. Just completely stopped working after that. Down to one now. I will say they do get awfully crackly and need deoxit after an unusually short amount of time.A lot of bad reviews for this product, but there’s not any alternatives I can find, at least that are this cheap. I needed a short male to female 3.5mm volume control to use with a little Bluetooth receiver, that I plug earbuds into, that I connect to my iPhone. For whatever reason the lowest volume I can set on the phone / Bluetooth doesn’t get low enough (for me) at night, so that’s where this thing comes in. It works fine, gets the volume down nice and low, connections feel fine, I don’t notice any looseness, the volume wheel doesn’t make any scratchy noises or anything, and the cable itself seems to introduce no extra noise. The one thing I see people complain about are bad connections where the wires go into the knob at the center of the cable. I agree that these points do not feel solid at all, and in fact could easily be moved around by hand right out of the box. I definitely can see how with any decent amount of stress these wires could rip out. My solution was to just brush a tiny bit of super glue around that connection area, on both sides, and now it feels solid. Yes, this should not have to be done, it’s poor engineering, but for as cheap as this thing is, and due to the lack of alternatives, it is what it is. I’ll knock a star off for that, but unless something else goes wrong these things seem fine to me.Edit: well the volume wheels got super scratchy after a couple months and the sound would cut out in one ear or the other. A little contact cleaner fixed it, but kind of annoying.

    Works very well
I plug my noise cancelling headphones to the audio out on my tv, however there is no volume control and the default setting is uncomfortably loud. I bought these to add volume control. They look lightweight but work very well. No static when I set the volume level and no noticable degredation of sound quality. I am very pleased with these and would recommend them.

    they work so buy them
Inserted in the headphone path and it works well. Zero documentation or paperwork. Very clean volume change, no static. Has total off which is nice. Full on seems to pass through the full signal or darn close. The volume knob is intuitive and easy to use and has a nice range. I picked the shortest length as I wanted it to just do volume and not provide length, this way I can find the volume wheel quickly by running my hand along the wire. Good product. Bought pair and both work.

    Decent
It feels very cheaply made; the plastic housing for the volume wheel feels like it will fall apart soon. Adjusting the volume when the wheel is at the low position will create noise in the headphones. It goes away with higher volume, though. I’m using it with a fiio KA11 dac that doesn’t have a built in volume control, and some apps require the DAC to function as a line-out, so an external volume controller is necessary. This gets the job done, but the longevity of the controller is questionable

Good for the price, lasts about 4-5 months with daily use
Pro: Works to easily adjust the volume between my iPod and earbuds and I like the tactile wheel.Pro: Short cable length.Con: Lasts only 4-5 months with daily use.I’ve purchased 2 of these 2 packs to be able to lower the volume on a old iPod I use to fall asleep listening to podcasts. The lowest setting on the iPod is too loud in that situation. This volume adjustable cable was my solution. The wheel lets me easily adjust the volume and vs the iPod tactile wheel. However, nothing lasts forever and with nightly use the impedance wheel fails after about 4 months at which point no audio will work. I do like the short cable length that does not overly extend my earbud cord length.

Funciona a la perfección, está rico que se sienten como pequeños “Clicks” al girar el control de volumen. Recomendado 🙂

Nothing fancy about these tables. Convenient length, not too long, proper thickness. The plug is narrow enough to fit through the headphone opening of most phone cases. Full volume is indeed full volume, and the minimum volume is fully off, unlike some cheaper brands. The left-right balance seems to stay correct at all ranges of volume. Another thing to check for is whether the cable is wired backwards, either by left-right or by polarity. Fortunately both of these cables were wired properly. And they come in a nice little tiny box.

I bought this to control the volume of the headphone output from a Garret Ace 400i metal detector.Believe it or not, there is no volume control on the 400i simply because they want you to purchase their dreadful headphones which have an inline volume control. So this neat little device comes to the rescue! It’s basically a passive stereo potentiometer placed in the audio path. It’s designed to handle headphone level audio.I did consider making my own DIY version – but the parts alone would have cost me more than this gadget! It works perfectly, with L and R tracking very well at all volume settings from zero output to full.At full it is transparent, with no noticeable difference compared to the headphones plugged in without it.The stereo image also remains unaffected at all volume settings.I’ve tested with my Beyer DT770 Pro (250 Ohm) headphones and my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. Results are great with both. The headphone out on the metal detector is 1/4″ so I used a simple female 3.5 TRS to male 1/4″ TRS barrel adapter on the input jack of this device.Incidentally, I also checked performance with the sound card of my PC and it works flawlessly.I’m very happy with my purchase.Thoroughly recommended!
