Effective, simple, a life changer
Easy to figure out — I just watched one of the reviewer’s videos here for a few seconds and it was clear. Really keeps odors from escaping. No more daily trips to the outside trash bins — a life changer! The poo does smell when you open the pail (naturally). To mitigate that, whenever I scoop the litterbox, I scoop the poo into a supermarket size plastic bag, put 1/3 cup of cat litter onto it to soak up the smell, tie a knot, and throw it into the pail which is lined with a bag. When it’s time to empty the trash in a few days, I take out the liner bag, tie it up and toss it with the bags of poo in it. Not necessary to do this, because the pail keeps the odors contained. It’s just for whenever you open the pail, if you have a delicate nose like mine. The charcoal filter helps, too. The pail is square and nice looking, doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Exactly what I wanted
I’ve used this for about 24 hours, and here I am already writing a review.
I’ve tried all kinds of other solutions, including:
1. The fancy litter containment systems (requires never ending expense of buying propriety “endless bag” systems, far too fiddly and difficult and time-consuming to use, too heavy and no handle, opening way too small for larger clumps or scattered litter.)
2. Small trash can with lid (hard to clean, usually either too big or too small. You either have to lift off the lid completely, or the attached lid doesn’t open very wide. Usually an eyesore.)
3. An actual garbage bag left on the floor, with the neck twisted to contain odor in between scoopings. (ugly, nasty, messy, nothing to guard against spills and scattered litter, if there’s a minuscule rip in the bag or along a seam, you’re screwed.)
When I saw this, I jumped right on it. It’s better in so many ways.
It’s far, far easier to use than the fancy ones with their “endless bag” systems. No “bags” to tie off or to leak, just stick any bag in it and go.
The opening is wide – like a small trash can – so there’s plenty of room to put in even very large clumps from my big cat, and you don’t get drips and crumbs of wet litter, or scattered litter, all over the top of the gadget that then have to be cleaned off.
The lid keeps the odor contained in between scoopings. It’s a little top heavy if you try to open the lid past the vertical, but it stays open perfectly when it’s straight up, or at any lesser angle. There’s never a need to open the lid past the vertical, anyway.
The handle is sturdy and makes is much easier to lift and carry (important if you have disabilities). It’s very sturdily built.
The up front cost is higher than those “endless bag” systems, but in the long run it’s far less expensive because there are no refills to buy.
I love that you can use any bags, and that the little clips hold the bag securely in place. The clips are insanely easy to use. It’s also easy to lift out the inner container for cleaning.
It’s deep enough to hold a good deal of used litter, but it’s small enough to be stashed in a pretty small space if space is at a premium like it is in my home. Even if it’s in the open and visible, it’s not ugly.
This simply has every single feature that I wanted, with none of the hassle and recurring extra expenses. I’m thrilled with it.

I like this product, and one handle did break off, but the listing shows it’s under warranty!
I have owned this product since April 26, 2021, and today is February 23, 2022.
Granted, there is no pleasant way to take care of the pet poop in your yard! It stinks, it draws flies and maggots, and it even creates a lot of moisture in the closed bin even in the winter.
There is nothing pleasant about this job. In fact, only yesterday, I saw another one of those trucks that had the signage on it that showed “We clean up your pet poop on your property.” This job is so unpleasant that there our individuals who actually pay for someone to pick it up for them. I suppose they also take the waste bags with them, too!
We have a large female German Shepherd and a female Australian Red Heeler. We had been storing our waste pickups in trash bags, but you could smell the poop when you walked into that area on the back veranda.
This waste disposal bin has a very tight lid, and it keeps the smell contained. But beware, the smell is strong when you open that lid! Remember, it’s poop, and it creates a lot of bacteria in there!
I remove the bags every week, and then I hose down both the bins. Keeping your bins clean inside and outside are a MUST if you want to clean off any debris, maggots and/or the smell. NOTE: I always wear latex gloves when I am handling the removal of the full bags and hosing down the bins.
I noticed that quite a few people talk about the handle(s) breaking off. Well, one of our handles broke off only a few months after we had it. All I was trying to do was rotate it back into the lock position with no extra pressure on the handle, and it just snapped in half!
However, I actually found two appropriate metal braces and 6 of the right size screws with washers in my garage workshop area. I am a 70 year old woman, and it took me about 30 minutes to find all the parts and get it all back together. Two things: 1) I actually glued the broken handle with super glue, and then I attached the metal brace with 3 screws so it held it together while the glue dried, and 2) I also attached another metal brace with 3 screws to the other handle which was not broken, but I did it as a preventive measure. NOTE: The screws have to be about the length as seen in the photos otherwise they will interfere with the rotation of the handle in and out of the lock position.
Last of all, replacement bags are hard to find. I have been using these bags that I found on Amazon.

These bags are large bags (13.8″ by 19.7″), but they are not actually the correct size for this bin. I decided to use 2 bags every week, placing one bag inside the other bag, because of the amount of poop from our two dogs. Yep, it’s heavy!
However, these bags are still a little small for the bins, so I just place my two hands inside the top of one of the bags, and I slowly stretch it out. I rotate the bag 1/2 turn, place my hands inside it, and then I slowly stretch it again. After doing the two stretches, I insert one bag at a time onto the inner gray bin, lock the side pins, and drop it in the main bin.
I gave it 4 stars because I can’t get REAL replacement bags right now for it, and I am also seeking warranty assistance for the broken handle. Hope they honor it!

Very nice waste container! Easy setup. Extra starter liner bags. I will use Kitchen Catchers – tall, when the supplied sample bags run out. Very well made, nice and neat looking. The poop pickup baggie container on the side of the main unit is very roomy, and guite convenient. I use the main unit for my dogs poop bag waste, but occasionally use for cats too. Havent tried putting raw waste, without a baggie, in it, but I could, because the inner container is lined with a bags. When the top is closed and the handle is up, there is NO odor at all. The charcoal odor absorber, inside the top of the waste container helps too, and is quite handy. Wish there was a way to replace when needed. My one complaint:
Dont like the size. It would be nice if there was a taller version also. Other than that, have no complaints at all.

This is the best litter pail, hands down. We have had 3 different styles of litter locker before this bucket style – and issues with each of those, like: have to use their expensive refills, can use regular garbage bags but it looks a mess, actual usable litter storage space is small, emptying the locker is a pain, difficult to clean, etc etc. But, those litter lockers were better than filling up little bags each time we scooped the boxes so we used those systems for years.
But no more! This bucket is amazing. It comes with several biodegradable bags but you can clip any bag inside to hold the used litter. Changing to a fresh bag is simple, just unclip, lift the old bag out and clip a new bag in. It takes seconds. Its a bucket so its easy to clean, just wipe it out. The lid locks in place and keeps odours inside. It has a handle and is easy to carry if you want to move it. Solid construction and feels like it will last a long time.
The only thing that is not as good as the more intricate litter lockers is that there is no barrier to contain the smell when you open the lid. Its an open bucket, so you get the full effect of whatever is in there. But its so good in every other way we just overlook this part.
As other reviewers have said, watch the price. It seems to fluctuate between $50 – $110. It just hit $50 again and I bought a 2nd one. $50 for a bucket may seem too high but its really not. All the frustration of using our old litter lockers gone – its very much worth it.
Advice from a 3 cat household: stick this litter bucket on your Wish List, watch it, and buy at $50. You won’t regret it.
