    An excellent resource!!
I love this book – Ms. Inkster is very straightforward with her explanations of the exercises and, as someone who needs a place to start in order to get started :), her sample workouts are really helpful! I just ordered a set of bands and I can’t wait to get started. As someone who is not new to strength training but who is now 50 and can’t lift like I did when I was 40 (ouch! Figured that out the hard way), I decided to give resistance bands a try and this is the perfect place to start. I highly recommend this book.

A modern book on resistance band exercises
This book is everything I needed to get started working out at home. Every other book you can find on resistance bands, including manuals from the companies that sell them, are old and outdated and don’t have popular exercises that everyone is doing now. This book was refreshing and not only gave plenty of exercises for all the major muscles, but showed a simple way to put them together into a program. You can use this information right away. It definitely inspired me to want to use my bands more!

    Loaded with useful information
When my gym closed, I ordered some resistance bands from Amazon. After trying to replace my usual workouts, I realized that I needed a lot more information. With this book in hand, I am able to figure out a good replacement for each exercise I did at the gym, and get advice on good form. Highly recommended!

The Advantage of Resistance Band Workouts
“Resistance Band Workouts” is an excellent review of the advantage of resistance training vis a vis other strength training methods. The author claims that there is less likelihood of injury with resistance bands than with barbells and other training methods in that resistance bands maintain a constant tension in the muscles throughout the entire movement of the exercise. Therefore, there is less chance of injury and more opportunity for muscle growth. Furthermore, resistance bands are convenient in that they can easily be brought along on trips and are fairly inexpensive. The author makes excellent training recommendations and includes the importance of proper recovery, diet and the importance of proper rest and sleep. I would highly recommend this book

    Meh
Wasn’t really my jam. I don’t even know exactly what I was expecting. Some may find it to be a helpful book though.

I highly recommend this book. The core of this guide contains the 50 exercises using resistance bands. Each exercise is illustrated with photographs of the author performing the exercise together with a description of how to do it, which muscle(s) are targeted and points to pay attention to. Crucially, this is followed by a section on how to design your own workout and a selection of sample workouts including routines for those who wish to exercise two, three, four or five to six times per week. The 5 times / week routine includes one for beginners and another for advanced users. There is also a core body workout routine. There are other useful chapters on muscle recovery, and at the beginning of the book there an introduction outlining the benefits of strength training and a description of the types of resistance bands and how to choose them. Most of the exercises in the book employ either the tubing with handles type of band or mini bands. Although there are a few exercises for Pull-up assist bands, it’s perfectly possible to do without those (in fact none of the sample routines use them). I thought this was a model guide, clear and practical, and way better than watching YouTube videos of muscle-bound gorillas blasting through routines which I instantly forget.11/08/21 Correction: There are a couple of exercises using pull-up assist bands in the later sample workouts in the book – I forgot that I just substituted other exercises using tubes or mini bands which targeted the same muscle groups. There are only 5 assist band exercises in the whole book (out of a total of 50).

Not able to use all the exercises unless you have a combo of long and short bands and equipment to attach bands to. Useful combination of suggested sets.

Book was readable, clear and easily understood. My one gripe is that I wish that the exercises were grouped in body parts ie chest exercises found at pages 28 to 37 etc.
