Smart Translation Earbuds, 144 Languages, Real-Time Two-Way Translation, iOS and Android Compatible (Black)

Music only! Do not buy hoping to speak to or understand a different language.
These are misleading. They indicate tranlate over 144 languages; however, they did not I dictated in music. I bought with hopes of language translation, not listening to music. I am sure, I am not the only one who thought they translate English to French or French to Spanish, etc. I feel forced to give the product a star.

Not for stealth translation, complicated set up, & maybe a scam?
The earbuds do work for translation but not by themselves. Also, they do the same thing as most search engine translators, word for word. The only possible appeal of a product like this would be if you could use it stealthily to eavesdrop on conversations that are in another language. However, this device can’t do that. First, you have to fully charge the earbuds before you can use them per the instructions. Then you have to download the translation app, AICool. But, despite the instructions that say you can download it from the app store, you can’t. The AICool available on the app store is from a different manufacturer and has nothing to do with language translation. Also, that app has blocked people from signing in on it due to “unusual activity.” A work-around is to scan the QR code on the instructions that takes you to a third party website to bypass the app store and directly install the app. For the sake of this review, I did so even though my better judgement was screaming scam! Scam! The app downloaded and installed fine and didn’t ask for any weird permissions. Registering and setting up the earbuds was fairly easy. My husband and I experimented thoroughly and really, the earbuds were kind of unnecessary as you have to have your phone open to the app and then press a button every time you want it to translate. The earbuds just make it so you hear it in your ears instead of on speaker. But, the earbuds do not sit in the ear canal. They have ear hooks that go over the top of your ear and a very small speaker that presses up against your ear. As a result, if you have your volume up, the people around you can hear what you’re hearing, just like if you were in a loud phone call. So, stealthy translation is often not an option, if at all. Another con is that it doesn’t autodetect the language to translate, you have to select which languages from/to you need, so if you don’t know what language you’re hearing, the app cannot help you figure it out. We tested what the app would do if we chose a wrong language to see what it would do. Often, it just repeated what it heard with no translation, or it didn’t do anything and just ignored that there was any input at all. We then tried doing similar languages. We told the app to translate Russian but used Ukrainian recordings. It translated some of the words but for the most part was nonsensical. Using 3 phones, we had one phone using the earbuds for translation, another phone using a well-known search engine translator (yes, that one), and another phone playing recordings of Korean, Russian, and Spanish. Every time, the translations were exactly the same, meaning that you can use the search engine translator for free and get the same result. The only good thing about this translation app and earbuds was that it continuously kept translating once you pushed the button until you turned it off. The search engine translator stops when there is a pause so continuous translation is not available with that free option. However, in the instruction manual, it does say that translation through one of their engines is only free for 2 years after you initialize the product but is free forever for their other engine. I didn’t understand that but I got the impression that I was going to be asked for more money in two years. As for the earbuds themselves, they were comfortable enough, but since they don’t go to your ear canal, they aren’t noise canceling. You can use them as regular earbuds but the quality of the sound is tinny and isn’t great for playing music. In the end, I deleted the app, threw away the instructions, and gave them to my niece to use to watch her YouTube videos she likes. Wouldn’t buy again.

Not good at all
The app needed to translate anything doesn’t work. Check aicool in your app store. They sit outside your ears very loosely and project sound a long ways. Even at a low volume everyone around me could hear my music and phone calls, which is all they will do with the app not working. These are not comfortable, do not function as intended, and are not at all worth the money. They don’t translate anything and are poorly made.
