Light weight even full of water, secure on belt with exceptions.
I like this water bottle, it has just enough water to refuel midway through a hike without adding the weight of a normal and heavier water bottle.I did notice, as some others mentioned, that the bottle cap sometimes seems to leak. I found out through about 12 hikes that this occurs sometimes when the cap is not “evenly” screwed onto the grooves of the bottle itself.By way of explanation I have sent three pictures to illustrate the cap screw issue and a potential consideration for a clamp design change in later versions. The 1st picture shows the white bottle by itself and the neck threads of the bottle. You can see where there are 3 distinct grooves for the cap to engage. The 2nd picture shows the white bottle with the installed collar/clamp assembly fitted over the bottle neck opening. Not that the collar covers up the last of the three threads at the base of the neck of the bottle. It also could be that this loss of the last thread contributes to some of those times when leakage occurs. My sense is that the bigger issue is that folks are in a hurry to fill the bottle and they just start screwing the cap on even though it is not lined up properly, and if they stop screwing when they meet the resistance of the collar thinking the cap is secured then perhaps some water will come out when the bottle is turned upside down. One last observation for future clamp design considerations. The 3rd picture shows the collar/clap and cap installed with a normal 1 and 5/16ths inch leather belt which I use to hold both the water bottle and other assorted gear on hikes You can see clearly the pressure “fairings” on the clamp between the inside of the clamp and the belt. Note that the belt is wider than the SPIBelt (which I think is 1 inch in width). My belt is a pretty standard belt width and if the fairings were designed to be located about another 5/16th of an inch lower on the clamp it would much more securely hold the water bottle,…and make the bottle much more compatible with the overall water bottle user community, I think. I have experienced the bottle becoming partially or fully dislodged from the belt when I am entering or exiting a vehicle. Not a big deal to a user but something to watch for when using.

perfect sized water bottle for medium hikes
Perfect for my 1-hour hike, just the right size.- not too big, so it doesn’t weigh down my belt/pants. The belt clip is secure and easy to get on/off.- seems just about perfect amount of hydration. I usually get home with a little water left.first time I used it it leaked, but seems I had not aligned the clip and the lid didn’t screw down all the way. Now I am a little more careful to align and screw down the lid and all is well.

Nice, snug fit but it does have a leak problem.
I liked that it had a really nice, snug fit and never fell off the entire 21K race route. But it DOES have a leak problem but I resolved it by NOT filling it to the brim. That’s it. Would I recommend it? Yes, I still would.

The clip is easy to use when running
I bought this water bottle and SPI belt for my running. I love to use this bottle. It’s so easy to attach to the running belt and it won’t bounce. I read some of the reviews mentioned about smell/ taste. I used lemon and left them overnight in the bottle to remove any weird smell and I don’t taste any weird taste anymore. Good size, I love the clip. A great buy.

    no bounce, all spill.
while this really does stay put on my running belt and my waistband of my leggings for long runs, the water spills EVERYWHERE despite the cap being screwed on tight/correctly and the nozzle being closed. It spilled all over me for the run, to the point that I ended up carrying it in my hand until it was empty and threw it away.

    Great for distance walkers
I am a walker, not a runner. I was worried that it would bounce around based on some of the other reviews but I had no trouble so far—probably because walking doesn’t create as much bouncing. I can see why it wouldn’t work for a fast runner but for power walking, it’s great. I clip this onto my fannypack, I haven’t tried clipping it to my shorts but imagine it would be fine. The only time it hasn’t been fine is when I’m mindlessly bent over or something and it slid right off–thr clip isn’t THAT strong, it’s just okay. In any case It’s the perfect size and I’m really happy I found this. First time ever I’ve been able to walk with water on my person without holding it–I feel much more at ease walking long distances from my house without being worried I’ll dehydrate and have to walk back home. I would only recommend this to light joggers and walkers, but probably not runners.

    Bad taste
This is a convenient product. The size is perfect for runners, and it clips onto your belt without issue. The rubber around the mouthpiece is also useful so you can open the bottle with your teeth without chewing plastic. The issue is, no matter how much I wash this bottle, it makes the water inside taste like plastic. I assume there’s plastic leeching into the water. Yuck

    Nice bottle!
I really liked this! It does not leak and the size is great for me. I participate in marathons and triathlons so I use these for my liquid hydration fuel on my training runs when I don’t need as much. I did try running with this clipped on my hydration running belt but it did bounce so I am not sure how that might work for others; I ended up putting it in one of the running belt pouches and that worked well. The clip works fine when I am biking.

It bounces, below my expectation. It’s to big to hold, yet too bouncy to hang on your hips/waist.

Super disappointed, definitely can’t run with this bottle on the belt system moves way too much and was so distracting. Had to order a running vest instead.
