Benefits | Vitamin K2 as Menaquinone-7 (MK7) is required to transport calcium from the bloodstream into the bone, supporting bone density and cardiovascular health.
Plant Based | Vegan certified, Soy-Free Vitamin K2 featuring the world’s only Non-GMO Project Verified Plantgel
Coconut MCT Oil | Vitamin K2 is fat soluble and difficult for the body to absorb if not taken with a fat. To help enhance absorption we blend our Vtiamin K2 with Coconut MCT Oil.
K2 from Chickpeas | While most brands source their K2 from soy, we formulate with K2 from chickpeas that use a proprietary natto-like fermentation process.

This product reduced plaque in my arteries
I wrote this review about 5 years ago. Today I am still healthy with 2 Stents in my LAD and my arteries clear of Calcium. I even took a Full Force Treadmill Stress Test in my effort to renew my FAA physical to get back to flying small airplanes.
This product really works. I have only one complaint, to remove Calcium Plaque or to cure Osteoporosis, you need to take ten of these capsules each day. One or two has no effect. If you search EBAY.uk you will find sellers of 365 Vitamin K2, 500mcg tablets for only $35 dollars. It is time this retailer sold a larger bottle of a higher dose of Vitamin K2 for the same price.
This product removed plaque from my arteries. Two years ago I experienced a burning sensation in my chest. It was midnight and the wife and I had just watched a movie on TV and were preparing for bed. My age is 78 years old. My wife drove me to the emergency room of our local hospital. The doctor had been a cardiac nurse at the same hospital and recognized the symptoms as a possible blockage of my heart arteries. She sent me up to the Cardio ward and the next morning I was taken into the Catheterization Lab. The surgeon went into my heart via a vessel in my arm. Injecting dye he could see a major blockage in the LAD artery. The one called the ‘Widow Maker.” Calcium and cholesterol plaque had created an area of inflammation beneath the plaque and the inflammation (think of a pimple or a cyst) had erupted and the gunk from the infection was almost totally blocking the blood flow in my LAD artery. If you look up the symptoms of LAD blockage you will find the usual first symptom is ‘SUDDEN DEATH.’ I was one lucky guy. Thank God for my astute ER Doctor. Only the strong pulse with every beat of my heart was forcing blood by the blockage. The doctor was amazed and told me I was lucky to be alive. He installed two stents to force the gunk into the artery wall. He explained he would prescribe medication that would wash the gunk out of the artery and I would continue my life. He also noted that two other major arteries were blocked he estimated 60% and 65%. He said he couldn’t install stents there until the blockage reached 75% or until one of the two caused a heart attack. That bothered me. I asked what I could do to reduce the plaque, he said there was nothing I could do to reduce the plaque but taking a Statin drug and living a healthy life would prevent the blockage from increasing.
Not satisfied with that answer I went on a search of the internet and found a lot of information. YouTube was the number one source. There I found cardiologist who were not practicing consensus medicine dictated by the drug companies. Many recommended Vitamin K2 mk7, others recommended All Natural Vitamin C. I decided to try both. A friend recommended I obtain a calcium score. When I asked my cardiologist for a Calcium Score prescription he told me I was wasting my money. The Catheterization Xray film was proof my Calcium Score would be extremely high. After taking the two supplements for 6 months I asked my cardiologist again for a prescription. This time he gave me one, but with the caution that to expect an extremely high score. I went in for the procedure and two days later my cardiologist called. He said he had my score. I asked was it extremely high? He said no. But, he said it was elevated. My score was 940. Extremely high would have been above 2,000. He would not credit either supplement with my success. He doubted the accuracy of the Calcium Score but could not remember when he had ever doubted the results in the past.
Today, my friend who is the same age and shares a similar life style came by. His Calcium Score two years ago was a little above 3,500. He had also taken the two supplements for 8 months. Today he got the results of a recent Calcium Score. he was down to 2,200, a 25% reduction in arterial plaque. A cause for celebration and continuing taking this Natural Vitamin C and this Vitamin K2 mk7 with Vitamin D.

Good Quality Supplement & No Side Effects
This is a good quality product. I’ve experienced no side effects with this product. I think it’s fairly effective overall. I’ve not had any issues with the capsules being sticky or stuck together inside the bottle. I’ve also not experienced any taste with this product. It’s seems to help, but is not a cure all or magic pill. I’d say it’s a good value for the money overall. I’m pleased with this product.

My dentist is going to go out of business if I keep taking this
I have been using this Sports Research K2 MK7 for 3 years daily since it has added coconut oil for better absorption and is made from fermented chickpeas and not natto without all the fillers of other brands as well. I see that it no longer contains carrageenan since 2/2017 as some other old reviews mentioned. My dentist is going to go out of business if I keep using it as I’ve had far less plaque and no cavities and far less time in the cleaning chair. Hopefully my arteries arent clogged as much with calcium deposits anymore as well.
Magnesium converts vitamin D into its active form so that it can help calcium absorption. Magnesium also stimulates the release of the hormone calcitonin, which helps to preserve bone structure and draws calcium out of the blood and soft tissues back into the bones where it is needed to build healthy bone structure. Vitamin K is what activates the calcitonin and matrix Gla protein to help improve bone mineralization. Vitamin K is like the ignition that turns the machine on – shielding the body from excess calcium. Once turned on, matrix Gla protein grabs calcium. The majority of Americans are vitamin K deficient, especially in the menaquinone (K2) variety which is found in foods such as natto (fermented soybeans) that are not eaten regularly in an American diet. Menaquinone-7, or MK-7, is the most biologically active and available form of vitamin K2 and Sports Research is the one I use for the supplementation. As you increase the dose of Vitamin K2 above 100, the activation of calcitonin increases in line with the dosage.
One of the simplest ways to explain vitamin K2’s importance is to say it has two crucial functions having to do with cardiovascular health and bone restoration. It helps prevent osteoporosis and hardening of the arteries. It directs calcium to places like your bones to make them stronger, and your teeth to help prevent cavities. It also prevents calcium from going to the wrong areas, such as to your kidneys, where it could lead to kidney stones, or your blood vessels, where it could lead to heart disease.
A few other less known benefits:
Optimizing sexual function by increasing testosterone and fertility in men, and decreasing androgens, the male hormones, in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
Creating insulin to stabilize your blood sugar (keeping your system sensitive to maintaining correct amounts), protecting against diabetes and helping to prevent metabolic problems associated with obesity
Suppressing genes that can promote cancer while strengthening genes that promote healthy cells
Enhancing your ability to utilize energy as you exercise improving overall performance
A study in Rotterdam involving 4,809 Dutch adults determined that those with the highest vitamin K2 intake had fewer heart attacks, a lower aortic calcification risk and the lowest death rate, altogether.
Has my review been of help to you? If so, would you consider hitting the “helpful” button below? I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Great product but package design change…
This is a great supplement to pair with Vitamin D3 and I think Sports Research makes an excellent quality product. However, they recently changed the packaging design for the worse. While it’s visually stylish, the bottle is less compact and a bit harder to open. I hope they’ll consider going back to the old form factor while keeping the sleek newer graphic design — best of both worlds.

Great peoduct
This has been such a great supplement.
I take this with vitamin D and magnesium.
Taking all three of them does make a difference.
These are small and easy to swallow. No taste or burping it up. Great for senatuve stomach.

Excellent, well tolerated K2 formulation
I’ve been taking vitamin K2 with vitamin D3 (separate soft capsule formulations) and find it’s very well tolerated, no side effects that I can detect. I like this veggie softgel capsule formulation.

Purchased this to treat metabolic syndrome as it appeared to be a critical element I was not getting in my diet, careful though I have been. Too early to tell the effects yet but this will show up in gradually-lowering blood pressure as well as blood sugar. Expect significant reversal effects of the sugar and pressure within 6 months. Natural source and processing method should ensure a quality product. Very pleased to discover its availability; cannot find this locally. Thank you Amazon!
UPDATE [Feb 28/2018]: Have been using the product for about a year now. Recently saw the concerns about the presence of carrageenan and cornstarch. I knew about the dangers of cornstarch but was uninformed about carrageenan. [Thank you alert consumers who do reviews!]. Guess I got an ‘old product’ as well since the ‘other ingredients’ now omit the offending materials in the original bottles images posted on Amazon. I’ve changed brands for now and shall see how this goes. On the plus side, I too experienced reductions in joint inflammation after several months; I’ve been hoping for more progress with clearing arterial plaque but only recently learned my magnesium is low . . . an essential metal for cell balance; just started a supplement . . . BUT my cholesterol has been improving and I’m off almost all the pharmaceuticals I’d been prescribed. My doctors and supporting health professionals know almost nothing about nutrition (which, sadly, includes several nutritionists I’ve met); they do ‘mean well’ however. Unfortunately ignorance, while blissful, can also be lethal.
Kudos to those in the consumer community who do their ‘due diligence’ in terms of investigation. Thank you Amazon for the feedback venue you provide which enables us to ‘share opinions’. Support of such ‘grass root’ sources is most appreciated. Learning never stops: “You shall know the truth and the truth SHALL make you free”. Wise words from one of my ‘historic heroes’.

I’ve been taking Sports Research Vitamin K2 as MK7 with Organic Coconut Oil for a few weeks now, and I’m already noticing a difference in my overall health. The fact that it’s non-GMO verified and vegan certified was a huge plus for me, and I love that it’s made with MenaQ7 from fermented chickpeas.
The veggie-softgels are easy to swallow and don’t have any aftertaste, which is great. I’ve noticed an improvement in my bone health and blood clotting since I started taking this supplement, and I feel good knowing that I’m giving my body the nutrients it needs.
Overall, I highly recommend Sports Research Vitamin K2 as MK7 with Organic Coconut Oil to anyone looking for a high-quality supplement to support their health.
