Great at-home Pilates Reformer
I am really happy with the performance of the Stamina AeroPilates Reformer. The machine was delivered in 2 days with free shipping. The equipment is very heavy and this purchase alone made it worth having prime membership. It seemed relatively easy to put together (all tools included), and was ready for use in under an hour. The glide is smooth and seamless, not at all jerky like some of the lower end machines. The headrest is adjustable and the rebounder is a great added feature which is seen on higher end machines. Your can adjust the intensity of your work out between one and four cords and the cord settings themselves can be set in one of three positions. The machine is comfortable to get on and off of as well, as it sits high enough off the floor. Two DVD’s and an exercise chart are included. If you are experienced with Pilates, you can go directly to the advanced DVD which adds use of the cardio rebounder. For beginners, the basic Pilates DVD is exceptional. It covers the basic 57 exercises covering every muscle group in the body with close attention to form and proper breathing. I use this as an adjunct to my classes, but honestly feel I can get just as an effective work out on this at home model combined with the advanced DVD. You can also add the magic circle for real advanced core work. Stamina Pilates Magic CircleOverall great machine to increase strength, flexibility and endurance.Just to note: The equipment is quite large and requires ALOT of space. Figure it for six feet long and depending on your height, will need at least six feet in width for adequate leg and arm expansion.

Enjoying the workouts, but..
As far as the machine itself, I love working out on it and the rebounder is great for cardio. However, I will not parchase anything else from Stamina. I called the day after I received the product because of missing parts and DVDs that did not work in any of the 3 dvd players I own. After waiting 10 days, I called back and they had no information regarding my call. I was sent another set of DVDs that stil did not work,but they did not send the missing parts!!! I went to a local hardware store to get the items I needed and did some searching on youtube for vidoes on how to use the machine and different exercises to do.I am rating this a 3 because of the missing parts, the DVDs do not work in many DVD machines, and the only way for Stamina to respond is for me to call (they have not responded to any of my emails). I am now tired of calling. The machine itself is great and I have had no knee issues since using it. I work out almost every day and like how easy it is to move from one exercise to the next. If you are interested in buying this, I suggest shopping around so you can avoid dealing with Stamina if possible.

Workout DVD’s Don’t Work
Very solid and fairly easy to assemble. But… once I got it assembled I tried to watch the two supplied DVD’s ( Level 1 Workout & Cardio Workout).. neither of them would play in ANY DVD Player. Really needs these to fully understand how to use the damn thing. Yes, there is a wall chart with pictures.. but really need the video’s to really understand how to use it safely. Very disappointed to spend this much money and get poor quality DVD’s that won’t play. Called Stamina for replacements, seems like they know there is a problem, and they said would send replacements. We’ll see…

I thought for a long time about which home exercise equipment to purchase. I had to do something because I haven’t been diligent about exercising and have lost a lot of flexibilty as I’ve aged. I enjoy walking outside when it’s cool but there are few bearably cool days in Florida in the summer and a lot of walking is hard on my back and knees. We have a nice gym at work but I just couldn’t force myself to get there early enough to be ready for work by 8am or to go after work and get home at 8pm. There are free yoga shows on cable but I couldn’t seem to get into those either. I saw this on QVC, found it refurbished for a much better price on Amazon, with of course no tax and free shipping, and grabbed it. It arrived without some parts and the manufacturer got those to us in about a week but I really think that when a company makes a mistake it should spring for expedited shipping of missing parts.The machine was easy to put together once we had all the parts. You would not know it’s refurbished just by looking at it. However, the 2 DVDs that came with it were clearly used and arrived dirty and scratched. I’ve only used one of them so far but it always hangs in the same spot, even after thorough cleaning. I knew the machine was refurbished but there was no heads up that the DVDs would be used and in questionable shape.My initial plan was to store the machine under a bed or couch but that didn’t work out. For the configuration of my rooms, the wheels are on the wrong end for rolling and rolling with the non-wheeled end on the floor is brutal as the machine is heavy. Folding it up was a big pain, at least for me, and I knew that if I had to unfold it and drag it out each time, I woulldn’t use it. So I bit the bullet and found a place where I just leave it out. I don’t worry that we won’t be invited to feature our home in House Beautiful.The machine functions pretty smoothly but if you don’t hold the straps at the right angle the action is noisy and rough. This is not too intrusive when using the machine, I can usually eliminate it by adjusting the angle, but I hope it doesn’t reduce the machine’s life.I’ve never done Pilates before and found it easy to get used to it using this machine. I do work that sometimes requires standing on a stage for long periods of time. My back used to spasm so badly that I must have looked very odd while I squirmed and twisted to try to manage the pain. After just a week of using this machine, I had to stand for a long time and had no back spasms. I know my limits so have not gotten through the entire first DVD (level 1 workout) and have not tried the second one yet. However, I do get through most of the first DVD without much problem and I’m no spring chicken. The exercises on this machine are low impact and you can adjust the intensity of your workout to your body’s abilities. The woman who leads the workout is very soothing and pleasant to watch and listen to.I really enjoy the cardio rebounder. When I first tried it, I had difficulty holding my legs up between bounces because my back is weak and tends to spasm. After a couple of times, I noticed that I no longer had this problem. Honestly, it seems to work so quickly that it’s like magic.All in all, I’m glad I purchased this machine. I think it will continue to enhance my health, reduce my back spasms, and enable me to regain some of my lost strength and flexibility. I recommend this to everyone who is healthy enough for low-impact exercise.

Would like to return it but it’s probably too late since …
I’ve done pilates reformer classes at a gym for a couple of years so I thought I’d buy this to keep in my vacation home so I can try to stay in shape while I’m here. Unfortunately, the wheels keep falling off the track. I get through about 20% of my routine and they fall off. Force it back into place and it falls off again! I’m not that heavy (about 130 pounds) so I can’t imagine why this keeps happening. Would like to return it but it’s probably too late since I’ve had it a month (like I said – only use it at my vacation home)….. SUX.
