Effective and Gentle for My Pup’s Wounds!
Iâve been using Sulfodene Dog Wound Care Ointment on my dog, who tends to get small cuts and scrapes during our walks. Iâm so impressed with how quickly this ointment works!The ointment is easy to apply and has a soothing effect on my dogâs skin. After just a few applications, the wounds healed much faster, and there was no irritation or discomfort for my pup. I also love that it has antiseptic properties, which help prevent infection while promoting faster healing.The consistency of the ointment is perfectânot too thick, and not too runnyâmaking it easy to apply exactly where it’s needed. It doesnât have a strong smell, either, which I appreciate.Since Iâve been using it, Iâve noticed that my dogâs skin is less red and inflamed around the injured areas, and the healing process has been much smoother. This stuff is working fast!
I should of taken a before picture but the smaller areas are starting to heal and the bigger area is slowly getting there. I was afraid it was like a lotion but it is not thank goodness it’s is waterproof ointment! I personally don’t think it smells bad it smells like medicine. My dog doesn’t like the smell or taste so that is a plus. He will leave his hot spots alone now! I will apply it and not use a bandage because air is good for healing. I apply it 2 to 3 times a day. Our poor pup has a mild case of allergies but his major problem is when he get nervous he chews on himself. Breaks my heart. But this ointment has done a great job of getting him to not chew on himself. This 3 way ointment will be come a staple in our house!

Works but can be harsh
Bought this for my pup as he is prone to scratching places and losing his hair while also scratching so much he would leave wounds on himself. While the product does work, I would not say it is recommended for every dog. The second you put it on if you put to much, or put it on a pup that is not use to harsh things it can cause irritation and pain for them. I tried this several times on mine and it does work with the healing process. He had to get use to it however so I had to use very very little starting out because it would bother him a lot causing him to cut the wound open even more. Once he was use to it however he doesn’t have the open wounds much anymore. There are times when he does of course, but it’s not as bad as it was since I had found he was allergic to some things. There also isn’t much of a scent to it, and it goes on very well. I would just recommend that you be careful what you put on your pup as you can put to much if they are not use to cream that kills bacteria, or it may be to harsh for their skin and they can’t use it. I’ve used it at max 2-3 times before I determine if it’s making my pups wounds worse or causing issues with his skin, but it turned out well. I can’t say that it will another though since all dogs are prone to different things. The only issue I would say that there was is the product did not state how harsh it could actually be which would of been helpful.

Wow!! Wish I’ve found it earlier. I’ve tried many sprays/shampoos and medications, including a prescriptions ones, with no luck. Diet change, doctors visits, flea treatments, expensive food, ect. Nothing was helping. This ointment has cleared my dog’s red itchy armpit and groin rushes within a day! Literally, the next day his armpits were pale and skin looked much better. I don’t see him scratching himself constantly like he used to as well. The only downside: It has a strong menthol odor, so don’t let your dog leak it. Put an Elizabeth collar on a dog if needed.

The product is good. It works nicely, helping to heal scrapes and wounds. However, be aware that the smell is very strong. If you have other dogs like we do, be careful â the strong scent caused our other dog to growl at the one this was used on. The one we used it on also did not like the smell at all, and proceeded to zip and roll around trying to get it off even after rubbing it in. It gets three stars, though, because of how well it does work. If it didnât have the strong scent, it would be a 5/5.

Im using this as my frenchie has a bald spot open wound from chafing her tail on concrete outside. It helped close up her wound in a few days and allow her healing to continue. After a few weeks the hair was growing back noticeably as it got better.
