    Replacing my Altras
After 10+ years running in Altra’s I have finally given up on them. I won’t say that the Topo’s are better that the Altra’s of 5 years ago and before, but the road shoes from Topo are far better than the Altra’s of the past few years for sure. I have had some [consistently] poor quality issues from the road shoes for a few years. Just to be clear, Altra made it right but when the soles are coming apart before I his 25 miles in a shoe that is a problem. I also still run in Altra trail shoes and have had no problems with that line. That being said, here is what I think of the Topo’s:PROS: They have a good feel out of the box and not to “springy” but they also don’t have a “dead” feel to them. At 25mm stack height they are about perfect for my daily runs, when I get back to going on long runs I’ll have to see how they treat the feet. I like the multiple lacing options, since we have hills here, I up-sized and that helps but I also like being able to “lock down” my feet to keep my toes from getting hammered with my feet sliding forward. The toe box is roomy and allows my toes to “splay out” giving me just enough room but not enough to allow my feet to move around in them. I had a pair of Altra Escalante’s that were made of a stretchy knit and had a really wide toe box and my feet just wandered all over in them (Most of the Escalante’s I had were fantastic though). I really like the material, it is light and breathable )with some venting) and the right balance of support and comfort. Not too stiff and not too stretchy.CONS: I really wish there were more color options. I get it, Topo has not been around for a long time and they are having to make decisions based on their market share and investing in growth. That said, hey Topo…..add some colors to your line up (especially the 0 drop for me).As far as the shoes go, running in them and all, I don’t have many miles on them so I cannot say how the Magnifly 5 will hold up but I had a pair of their Magnifly 4’s and my only gripe with them was after several miles and about 9 months the footbed started to move around on me.Overall, I would recommend these to anyone. Great daily runners and seem to be a great option to anyone that wants a great alternative.

    Medium squish – light
I’m a hobbit-footed man who liked the Altra Torin 6, but when that model wasn’t available anymore, I tried these and the Torin 7. Less cushion than the Torin 7, but a more nimble shoe that just felt better hugging my feet. If wide zero-drop with more cushion is your priority, the Torin 7 is better. If you prefer lighter wide zero-drop – this is a good bet. 250 miles in and still looking new (I don’t jam my feet in these).

Good 0 Drop Running Shoe For Wide Feet But The Arch Support…
These shoes are perfect for my extra wide feet. In comparison to the Altra’s I have (Torin 7 & Escalante 2.5 & 4) these shoes offer the same width as Escalante 2.5’s very roomy especially for wide feet. Torin 7’s were a little too narrow for my foot, not breathable either. The Magnifly 5’s are way more responsive & cushioning isn’t as soft as the Escalante 2.5’s which for me as a heavy runner (250LBS) offers a much better running experience. I don’t like sinking into my shoe when i’m running.Topo Magnifly Benefits Over Altra Escalante & Torin Shoes:- Better Midfoot & Heel Lock Down. Also, More Comfortable in Heel/Ankle Than Torin 7’s- More Responsive, Less Cushiony Feel (Great For Heavier Runners 200 LBS+)- More BreathableCons:- Really not a fan of the arch support in shoe. Very uncomfortable for my low arch feet but hopefully with time they conform to my feet. Will update my review in 2-3 months!- Wish the foot bed was a bit wider. The inner part of my mid foot does hang off a little bit. I never have this problem with the Altra shoes. Escalante Series in particular. If Topo can omit the built in arch support & slightly widen the foot bed in the next iteration of this shoe, this hands down would be the best zero drop shoe on the market!

Durable, moderately cushioned zero-drop shoe with versatile color scheme
My absolute favorite for running on pavement. Thanks to its versatile color scheme, this shoe is appropriate for almost any non-formal setting, including business casual.

Great shoe but not for my feet
This was my first attempt to try a pair from Topo. The shoe looked great and was the right weight and cushion but for some reason it was not a great fit for my feet. I normally run in zero drop shoes mostly Altra and just added Saucony Kinvara 14 (4mm drop) to my rotation but the Topo Magnifly caught my attention. Too bad it did not work out for me.

    Very High Arch Support!
Please be wary, though the shoe has very good cushion, the arch support is way too high that creates a huge discomfort.

Wide toe box and zero drop
It’s surprising to me that few shoes are shaped like a foot. Most shoes that I have worn are far too small in the mid foot and toe area. Until recently, I did not realize how much pain and deformity this can cause. Topo was recommended to me by a medical practitioner to help deal with toe pain. I’m happy that I have found a shoe that allows my toes to splay. They also have a zero heel to toe drop which allows my foot and lower leg to absorb more impact. It also helps with my balance. Also this shoe is relatively low stack height compared to other athletic shoes which means I don’t strike the ground as hard. I highly recommend these shoes for foot health and anyone who has foot pain due to ill fitting shoes.

Great fit, least durable shoe I’ve owned
The good,Great fit, roomy toe box. Maybe a little more arch support than I would like. The bad,Least durable shoe I’ve ever owned. Less than 10 miles in and the rubber grip on the soles are peeling off the foam.

Super Laufschuhe mit viel Platz für die Zehen! Ich hatte vorher viele ähnliche Zehen-Laufschuhe ausprobiert die alle zu schmal waren.
