Does not connect to camera
We loved the idea of a wi-fi monitor we could check on our phones that also had a unit for babysitters or a nanny to use. The price point on this was excellent. However, the “parent unit” (monitor) immediately takes you into set up mode, but it can’t find the camera. Based on all the information on the website and Amazon, this setup is different than the process for their other products, and it clearly isn’t working. I contacted customer support multiple times over the course of a week and haven’t received a response other than automated messages. I’m hoping this review gets me some support.

Update:This is now a 4.5-star device after the issues with connecting it have been fixed!So I took a look and saw another person posted a review saying the issues with the monitor were resolved, so I bought a new one to check it out.I’m happy to report that the issues ARE fixed! Our camera was already on version 2.0.0.8 (it must have downloaded and installed the new firmware sometime since I reviewed the monitor last). All I did was boot up the monitor viewer, push the pairing button on the camera, and it showed up on the viewer almost instantly!Pros:-Small and can easily fit in your pocket.-Signal seems good, we can use it from all 3 floors of our house and it works fine-Rechargeable battery that appears to have good battery life-All options from the app are on the monitor-Screen is good for what it is and the brightness can be adjusted-Antenna folds down for travel/more compact look-Has speaker and mic for 2-way talkCons:-The power adapter/charging cable is a standard AC adapter with a barrel plug. This is why I am only giving it 4.5-star instead of 5-star. If this could get updated to use USB-C for charging/power, this would be a 5-star device.-After using the full app on a touchscreen device, you will miss pinch-zoom-Quality of the screen and small size leave something to be desired. Perhaps a model with a larger touchscreen would be a good option for customers!-All navigation through menus has to be done with the physical buttons on the top of the device, since it isn’t touch enabled.Summary:The VTech RM9751 Yellow Daisy baby monitor camera and the VTech RM2701 Baby Monitor Viewer are easily, hands-down, the best baby monitor on the market today. The quality of everything from the physical devices, to the software, to the features are all the same or better than baby monitors 3-5x the price. The fact that you can get this whole setup for ~$60 (at the time of this review) is mind blowing. A quality 1080p baby monitor with all the fixins that also has a dedicated WiFi monitor for this price is insane in this day and age. And the fact that Vtech is still fixing issues with them shows they are actively supporting their products and parents who invest in them, which is nice to see.All-in-all I can’t recommend this baby monitor and viewer pair enough.=============================OLD REVIEW:I got a little farther than most of the other reviewers. I was able to get the monitor to see my camera. Keeping it very close to the camera it would eventually show the camera and allow me to select it using the buttons on the monitor. However after selecting it, an icon appears to indicate it is working/connecting, and it eventually fails and forces you back to the beginning of the process.This really is a shame because the camera is VERY good, has great quality, and is extremely affordable. If this monitor were to work, it would really make this setup unrivaled in terms of bang for your buck. The only drawback to the camera is that you HAVE to use your phone. With the monitor it would free up your phone and make this thing literally the best baby monitor on the market. Even the more expensive options don’t come close IMO.Vtech, seriously… what the heck happened here? If you can fix this and get it back for purchase and it works, I will happily change my review. You have a serious winner here if you can figure out what went wrong with this monitor accessory and get it back on Amazon. Here’s hoping you do fix it, because I for one will buy it the second it becomes available in working form.

Doesnât work. Tried 2 of them
Unfortunately, as much as I love the daisy camera, I tried two of these viewers and they donât connect to the camera. Pretty strange considering theyâre specifically for the daisy camera and the daisy camera only. Looks like itâs not an isolated issue. I originally thought the first one was defective. Really wish it would work. Maybe when VTech figures it out, Iâll get another one, but for now, Iâm returning the camera and the viewer since they donât work together.

Monitor Connection Issue SOLVED!!
I don’t typically write reviews but after all the struggle, I finally solve the monitor connection issue.You can watch the Youtube Video (search bellow) or follow these steps to get the camera to connect to the monitor.FYI, you can also connect multiple monitors to one camera.1: Follow the handbook instructions and connect the daisy camera to the “VTech Baby App”.2: Open the camera settings (gear icons next to the name) on the mobile app.3:Â Scroll down the menu and click on “Camera Information”4: Check the “Main Firmware” value, it should be “2.0.0.8” or higher5: If the value is less, then the “Main Firmware” need to be updated6: Unplug and plug back the camera, leave it on and connected to WiFi overnight.7: It should automatically update Firmware in the morning.8: Check “Main Firmware” value and verify it’s”2.0.0.8″ or higher.9: Now you can follow the steps on the screen of the monitor to connect the camera.10: Enjoy your baby!YouTube Search: RM9751 Upgrade Firmware and pair with RM2701

Shouldâve listened to the reviews!
Buyer beware. These reviews are 100% accurate. I purchased the camera and monitor. Camera works fine. Camera to phone app sync fine/easy. Camera to monitor syncâ¦.nada. I contacted VTech customer support. Itâs pretty telling that something is wrong when the model number isnât in their data base for some reason. The person I worked with was good and as helpful as she could be. However, after running through the set up process, twiceâ¦.and doing a hard restartâ¦.it still wouldnât sync. Unfortunately, she had no other information or a solutions. She went on Amazon while we were on the phone and read the reviews. She theorized that maybe Amazon received a defective batch. She offered to send me one from their warehouse, but I declined (opting to return it to Amazon and purchase another through Amazon). I received my second unit todayâ¦.and encountered the same syncing issue. I hope somebody at Amazon reads these reviews and pulls this product until the syncing issues are resolved. So frustrating.

I bought the flower monitor a few weeks ago and have been using it with just the Wi-Fi app on my phone which works great. But weâll be traveling soon and needed a handheld for grandparents to use while weâre away. It was easy to set up and pair and has a good picture. I would recommend!
