Finally the volume control I was looking for in a dual monitor!!!
We ordered and returned SO MANY monitors before getting this one. I really love this monitor, it’s so nice and small that it fits perfectly in my pocket (most other ones are just so massive). We’ve had no problem seeing everything we need to on such a “small” screen. The range is incredible, we’ve gotten it to reach way further than the marketed range. We would have preferred a split screen, but they just don’t make them with the volume customization that we were looking for… let me explain. Here is how the volume control on this two camera model (vtech VM923-2) works. If only camera one is selected, volume can be turned off or on for that camera. If only camera two is selected, volume can be turned off or on for that camera. If the rotating mode where it displays camera one for ten seconds, then camera two for ten seconds, is turned on you cannot control the volume of each camera individually. Either volume from both is turned on or volume from both is turned off. You cannot have it on rotating camera mode and have camera one on volume level five and camera two on volume level one. They have to be at the same volume level on rotating mode. You also cannot have it on the rotating mode and have volume from camera one on and volume from camera two off. Either both cameras volume is on or both off (on rotating mode). If during the night you have it on rotating camera mode, let’s say your child in the room with camera one starts crying. There could be up to a ten second delay in you hearing it through the monitor since it is switching between the two. Again hopefully that makes sense. We have had no issue with this functionality at all, we really love how it works. One other small note, as you’re selecting options on the menu, the monitor makes a “confirmation noise”. It cannot be turned down or turned off. So if you go to change something during the night be prepared to hear that each time.Apparently I’m very passionate about this, considering I just wrote a novel, but I just read so many reviews for so many monitors while we were shopping for one and no one would explain how volume on a two camera monitor works. So hopefully I’ve helped someone out there who was like me!

Really like this product.
Easy to set up. Works great at night and has a clear view. Been using for a few months with no problem. Holds its battery good. Nice volume levels.

Solid, dependable, affordable baby monitor. Nothing fancy, but reliable
This is a fine baby monitor. It’s nothing fancy, but it does the job. Night vision is adequate. No WiFi required. It’s very affordable, and it’s held up to daily use for months now. I am happy with my purchase & would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive, basic, reliable monitor. Battery life is pretty good, and it charges fairly quickly. My one complaint is that I really wish you could use the monitor to move the camera left/right & up/down. With my previous baby monitor (which was more expensive), you could use the controls on the monitor to move the camera view around. With this monitor, once you set the camera up, you have to physically move the camera if you want to slightly adjust the view. I guess you just have to pay more if you want to be able to move the camera view around via the monitor

Avoid the VM819
The VM819 model has surprisingly poor range, with audio cutting in and out for seconds at a time just a short distance away. The PTZ version (VM923), on the other hand, has outstanding range thanks to external antennas on each end, better than anything else I’ve tested. (Though the PTZ camera is larger, in case that’s a consideration.) Any successor to the VM819 really should adopt the external antennas of the VM923.Unfortunately, the parent unit for the VM923 (not interchangeable with the VM819’s) allows only panning with the hard buttons, requiring a trip through the (very slow) menu to adjust the volume. (In contrast, the VM819 uses the hard buttons for volume and brightness.) This really should have been configurable on the VM923 parent unit. This was the deal-breaker for me, since I nearly never need to aim the camera and frequently need to adjust the volume (and I need better range than the VM819). I ended up going with the Babysense V24R, with sensible button layout and excellent range (somewhat less than the VM923, but far better than VM819), and a more compact parent unit. Both the VM819 and VM923 have a non-replaceable battery in the parent unit and have an extremely slow UI, taking several seconds to toggle the display off to monitor audio only. (This made adjusting volume on the VM923 even worse.) Also, as others have noted, the alert tone when the parent unit loses signal is *extremely* loud, no matter your selected volume. These are all better on the V24R.That said, when in range, the VM819 and VM923 video and audio are fine, and the camera and display both work well.

Great Monitor
This monitor allows me to keep an eye on disabled family member. The camera provides a great image even in completely dark room. It picks up sound perfectly and allows for quick communication. It has simple controls making it easy to use. The monitor holds a charge well. Great value for the price and would highly recommend this device.

Works Well
The video quality is decent, you can see clearly enough, and the night vision works fine. They have lasted us a few years with no issue. The battery life is sufficient. We didn’t use the voice function much, but when we did it sounded good. I haven’t had any issues.

So easy!
I got this baby monitor for our bedroom while my baby is in her bassinet and not yet in her crib. It was so easy to set up and get going.I literally just turned both on and it was ready to go, no pairing or connecting! The audio is great and so is the camera quality. My only “complaints” are that it feels like it’s zoomed in, so you have to put it pretty far away to see baby. Also, I wish it had a clip on it so I could clip it to the side of the bassinet, it has to be on a flat surface or mounted on a wall. Neither of which are big deals but would make it better. Overall totally recommend for an easy no wifi baby monitor!

Muy buena resolución. El alcance no es tanto si cruza paredes.

Sinceramente es una de las cosas que cuando tienes bebé la ocupas si o si, aparte está muy bueno, me sirve aún mucho cuando mi bebé aún toma siestas

The VTech VM923-2 Video Baby Monitor has been outstanding! The 19-hour battery life is impressive, and the long-range coverage provides excellent flexibility. The two cameras are perfect for monitoring multiple rooms. The only improvement I’d suggest is a slightly higher resolution for even clearer video, but overall, it’s a fantastic product that delivers on its promises. Highly recommended!

I love that it is local access only, so little hacking risk. The ability to move the camera remotely is also a game changer. Battery powered receiver means I can move it quickly and easily around the house without futtzing with cables. It reaches my basement office from our bedroom on the first floor (and other side of the house) easily. Resolution might be a little low, but for the price point you can’t go wrong.

Would not recommend.I have heard good reviews on vtech monitors however I am very disappointed in this product. One of the cameras is extremely blurry (see photo). You also cannot pan from the monitor, you have to manually move the camera. As seen in the photo we are unable to view the whole crib with the camera mounted as high as possible, and we can’t pan to see the very top or bottom of the crib.
