Perfect first real knife for kids
If you have a little one that’s eager to help in the kitchen and you’re ready to graduate from the plastic kids knives out there this is probably the best bet.I rated it high for value for the money as I got this on sale for 50% of it’s regular listed price. It’s unbeatable at that price for the quality of the knife. The sheath as a finger guard is perfect and it even comes in a cute cardboard box that looks like a book for the kids to color in.Overall, they had no problem cutting through typically difficult foods like raw carrots all the way to ripe tomatoes.

    Excellent for kids, and adults!
This knife performs way ahead of its price point. My kids are 9 and 8. I started teaching them with the kids plastic knives, and when they hit age 9, started working with these knives with them. They are quite sharp, and my diamond sharpening steel keeps the edge easily. When my favorite chef’s knife is in the wash, I reach for these before some of my cheaper knives. The kids find them comfortable to use. We’ve worked on knife skills and they wear a cut resistant glove sometimes, so only my youngest uses the cutting guard. But it is good to train them for proper finger position on the stabilizing hand, Altogether, a great little knife. I just purchased two more so everyone can be using a knife when we’re doing dinner prep. They love being mommy’s sous chefs. While I still supervise fairly closely when they’re using sharp objects, they still save us some meal prep time when they help out, and they love telling everyone they helped cook the meal. Helps to get them to eat their veggies too, when they were the ones to prep them.

Turn your Kiddo into a Sous Chef
Our kids have loved cooking since they were toddlers. They had plastic serrated knives, but as they’ve gotten older those were no longer doing the trick. This is the next step for your kid to transition from “baby” knives to kid knives and eventually to adult knives. The Zwilling Twinny comes with a blade cover that doubles as a finger guard so little ones can make more complicated cuts. The knfe is sharp enough to cut tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and more, while not so sharp as to hurt a child if they accidentally use it wrong. The finger guard is my favorite part because it helps with their grip while keeping them safe, giving me one less thing to worry about when they’re in the kitchen with me.

    Not bad, decent starter
The hand guard is a bit bulky but this was a decent way to get my kids into cooking.

I never knew I’d love a knife but here we are
I LOVE this thing. My child was absolutely terrified of knives. He wouldn’t go near the kitchen when I was using a butter knife. He also has trouble with food pickiness. Got him this knife for his 7th birthday and it is no exaggeration to say it has been life changing. It is a real, sharp knife. It cuts and functions well. But the real MVP is the knife cover/finger guard. He is practicing proper hand posture for safe cutting, and he and I both feel a lot more comfortable and confident while he uses it. It’s a great size and weight for him and his 4 year old brother has also been able to practice with it. My kiddo has gotten so excited about learning to cook and ALSO has been excited to try new foods for the first time in his life. If you are on the fence buy it buy it buy it. It’s honestly wonderful.

My kids started helping me cook more often!
Whenever my kids want to help me cut ingredients, I used to give them a plastic knife. But now that they are getting older, I thought it was time for them to use a kids’ version knife for cooking. I didn’t want to get a plastic kids’ knife that couldn’t cut the veggies properly, so I looked for a stainless steel one that was slightly sharper than the plastic knife. Since the brand was already well-known for knives, I decided to give it a try. And I must say, I am extremely satisfied with the quality and how well it is made for kids. It’s still sharp enough for them to cut the veggies, while also helping them learn how to handle and use a knife safely. I’m really happy with my purchase, so I even ordered another one for my nephew.

    Great but sharp!
I got some of these for my daughter and nephews. They cut much better than the vinyl ones but I definitely recommend your child is well versed with those first and definitely by hyper vigilant watching them with it. My nephew (4) cut his finger pretty bad with his. His older brother (7) loves it and is happy to help in the kitchen now. My daughter is 4 and has had the vinyl knives for a while now, she is so happy to have a knife that can actually cut things like potatoes and carrots without sawing them. Definitely recommend with diligent supervision!

    So Great
Got this as a stocking stuffer for my five year old who has been asking to help cook. She is so excited about it! Love that the cover doubles as a finger guard, teaching kids safety early on. It is a perfect size and easy for my daughter to hold.

First and foremost, this is a real kitchen knife. The only real difference between this and our high quality kitchen knives is the rounded tip, shorter blade, and small grip with protection to keep the fingers from slipping onto the sharp blade. This absolutely requires supervision, but it also leads to more success cutting and less slippage. You just need to feel confident you are ready to give your child a knife. That said, we had already let our 6yo sometimes take a small knife to cut soft items like strawberries, mushrooms, etc with close supervision and he did well, but we noticed the most likely injury was from “choking up” on the handle to close to the blade so the handle design here helps prevent that nicely. I also like the blunt tip since he can’t accidentally stab the tip somewhere. The design leaves ONLY the blade itself to worry about. So far he has successfully cut strawberries, mushrooms, peppers, and cucumbers, and the pride he feels in helping prepare food has encouraged him to take (and eat) more vegetables in his lunches!

Es precioso, del tamaño perfecto para un niño, la cuchilla de buenísima calidad, pero si usar con supervisión porque tiene muchísimo filo.

I love this ZWILLING TWINNY Kids Chef’s Knife for my 4-year-old. The included finger guard is a fantastic feature, helping with proper alignment and keeping little fingers safe while learning to use a real knife. The knife itself is very sharp, so I always supervise closely, but it makes cooking together much more enjoyable. Unlike the dull, ribbed knife we used when my child was younger, this one cuts through even soft foods like tomatoes easily, which makes my kid feel more involved and excited about helping in the kitchen.
