Saramonic has unveiled the K9, a new UHF wireless microphone system designed for filmmakers, broadcasters, and content creators who need reliable, high-fidelity audio with advanced features like 32-bit float onboard recording, timecode sync, and global UHF frequency compatibility.
The K9 aims to solve common pain points in wireless audio, such as RF interference, clipping, and post-sync headaches. At the same time, it packs professional-grade specs into a compact, user-friendly system.

Key Features of the Saramonic K9
The K9 is packed with a lot of surprisingly professional-grade features that you probably wouldn’t expect from a microphone in this price range. Let’s look at the key features:
Ultra-Wide UHF with Global Reach
The K9 operates across a seriously broad UHF frequency range (550 MHz to 960 MHz), allowing it to auto-scan for clean channels even in congested RF environments. It also supports GPS-based frequency updates, which means it’s geared up for international use right out of the box.
Saramonic is quoting a 130 db input range and a 120 db analogue output in terms of performance, so this system should comfortably handle everything from whisper-level dialogue to loud events without breaking a sweat.

Built-in 32-bit Float Recording
One of the most impressive features is 32-bit float onboard recording, with 32GB of internal storage per transmitter. This gives you distortion-free backup audio that doesn’t clip, even if your gain settings were off or someone unexpectedly screams into the mic. This is very handy for unpredictable real-world shoots.
But it’s not just about internal recording. The included lavalier mic (just 3mm in diameter) has a high dynamic range too, so you’re not just relying on the 32-bit float to cover for mic limitations. Plus, it’s IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, which makes it more durable than most.
Timecode Sync and Smart App Integration
For workflows where syncing audio to video is critical, the K9 supports both wired and wireless timecode sync. Saramonic is also releasing a separate timecode box kit (available mid-May), which integrates with the K9 for frame-accurate syncing across cameras and recorders.
Controlling the whole setup is also a bit smarter now with the Saramonic System App, which can manage up to 48 devices remotely. That includes frequency assignment, gain control, real-time monitoring, and firmware updates.

Receiver Design and Connectivity
The receiver now has dual displays, one on top, one on the front, so you don’t have to dig through a bag just to check signal status. It ships with two transmitters, a receiver, and a durable carrying case packed with accessories: multiple antennas, XLR and USB-C cables, 3.5mm connectors, foam and dead cat windscreens, and even colour-coded tags to easily identify channels on set.
Power and Compatibility
The transmitters’ battery life is up to 9 hours, and the system supports USB-C fast charging. It works well with a wide range of gear, from cameras and field recorders to mixers and mobile devices, so you won’t have to worry about ‘adapter hell.
Availability and Pricing
The Saramonic K9 is available to pre-order now for $999 and will begin shipping around April 11th. The Timecode Kit will be available in mid-May. It will be sold as individual units and in a 3-unit charging kit with a range of connectivity options.
