Viltrox Adds AF 25mm F1.7 Air APS Lens To The Fray

During the recent CP+ Photo Show in Yokohama, Japan, Viltrox announced it was adding the Viltrox AF 25mm f/1.7 Air for APS-C cameras to its range.

Viltrox is a highly acclaimed third-party lens manufacturer with a reputation for developing optically pure yet affordable lenses for various camera systems.

The new Viltrox AF 25mm f/1.7 Air joins the existing AF 35mm f/1.7 Air and the AF 56mm f/1.7 to form the Air Trinity of lenses.

It’s an incredibly compact lens, measuring 2.5 x 2.2″ (64 x 54.7mm) and weighing just 6oz (170g), making it truly pocketable.

While it’s largely plastic, the quality is impressive. It offers a durable yet lightweight everyday carry prime ideal for a wide range of genres.

The fast f/1.7 maximum aperture assures effective low-light performance while delivering excellent subject separation and pleasing background blur.

Externally, the lens is a simple system with a broad manual focus ring and an HD Multilayer Nano Coating on the front element.
