Easy to use and install. We are using it on our cold plunge system. Filters are common so lots of options. Has a nice bracket for mounting. Easy install and use. Works great.

Works great on cold plunge
This filter housing works very well for use with my cold plunge using 50 micro pleated filters. I wish it were a tad less restrictive for aquarium pump use (read low head pressure capable pump) but that is not a true designed use case for this filter, so I let it pass on that.The only real negative I can think of is the o-ring is not captured in any way, so be careful when replacing the filter that you don’t drop the o-ring into the dirt or pinch it when tightening the housing.

So yes, everyone can install this whole house water filtration system and enjoy clean water from every sink, shower, tub, and washing machine.MAIN BENEFITS:Having this installed will first allow you to drink your tap water, second it will reduce dirt, silt and rust which can clog or break your expensive faucets. I recently rebuilt my bathroom and bought all new shower fixtures and faucets. I installed this product to protect my shower heads and thermostatic valve. I’ve heard that the sand and rust that flow through your pipes can eventually wear down the seals on all types of plumbing fixtures and cause them to leak or break. Save yourself a lot of money in repairs in the future by installing this filter.CHANGING FILTERSGE made it very easy to swap out the filter once it looks dirty.1.I simply shutoff the valve to my water main,2. Then I shutoff the additional SharkBite valve the GE instructions told me to install right after the water filtration system. This prevents water from coming back down from upstairs while I swap filters.3. I turn the water filter valve to the off position.4. Next I simply use the plastic wrench that came with it to unscrew the filter from the base and place the filter in the plastic canister into a bucket. This minimizes any spills.5. I remove the old filter and pop in the new filter and simply screw it back into the housing.6. I turn on the water filter valve, then slowly turn on the water main valve, then the valve right after the filter. That’s IT!Honestly, you can do this entire process in less than 5 minutes.Buy the filter and Sharkbite fittings to make the job super easy without any plumbing tools. Quality is okay
I installed this in November and went to change the filter out for the first time last weekend. The pressure release button broke off and now the whole unit needs to be replaced. Disappointed.

I love these. Has a switch to turn the water off or bypass the filter, which is nice. I love the clear housing. No more guessing how bad the filter is. Been using 3 of these on a well at a cabin. You can buy various types of filters to use with this. I use 1 micron filters. Good water flow. With the right filter you can clean water pretty good. will and have bought again

Best general filter – especially since you can get a wide variety of filters to fit this so you can really meet your needs – so lets say you have well and it is gritty filter the sand out first then maybe a second filter with a charcole filter for taste

Very poor support and app
The Smart HQ app looks nothing like the marketing pix, and is unusually difficult to figure out. This product needs a simple app that shows how to turn valve on/off, shows leak detection, and other basics. No chat support that I could find, and the phone number was not answered. No mention of the app in the instructions, and no QR code to simply download it (took hours to determine that I was looking for an app called SmartHQ).This product has only 30 days to return, and it takes longer than that to find time to install, so I’m out of luck. Don’t be fooled by the trusted GE label – this isn’t your parents’ GE.

they work great I used garden hose rubbers on the screw fittings and had no leaks. you have to buy the filters as they do not come with

Install went well had to snug up the outlet fitting as it weeped a bit. Use a good amount of Teflon tape and you probabe won’t have an issue.Unit came with a 50 micron filter, which I changed after 10 days. I wanted a 5 micron filter in place, there was clear evidence on the filter that I changed out, that it was working. The bypass function worked fine and the swap was a breeze. The 5 micron fliter is a different type, so I am monitoring it’s performance. Used another brand of filter and seems to be working as expected. We have a shallow well with UV light sterilizer.

I use two of these housings in series, a coarse pre-filter and fine post-filter. Filter cartridges are available mail order or locally. A good, basic whole cottage filter system. I will keep these as emergency backup housings in the event of a deep freeze or lost o-rings.
