One Hub to Rule Them All â Best Smart Home Decision Iâve Ever Made!
I jumped into the Homey Pro ecosystem about two years ago when the 2023 version launched, and let me tell you â itâs been one of the best tech investments of my life. I have over 200 devices spread across my home, from lights and locks to sensors and thermostats. Homey Pro has seamlessly unified them under one intuitive dashboard, letting me control and automate literally everything in a single place. I love creating Flows (Homeyâs visual automation interface) because itâs so straightforward and powerful. Even if youâre new to home automation, youâll pick it up in no time. One of my favorite parts about Homey Pro is that it works with practically any device I throw at it. With support for eight communication protocols (including Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more), it connects to everything from major brand hubs like Lutron Caseta and Kwikset to smaller devices from up-and-coming manufacturers. Over time, new features have rolled out â like Moods, Zone Controls, Dashboards, and the energy-tracking feature â proving that Athom (the company behind Homey) continually improves and listens to its user community. I also appreciate that they keep adding support for more US-focused brands, making the system even more convenient for American homes. If youâre on the fence, donât be. Homey Pro is worth every penny, and the new Homey Mini Pro gives you even more options to get started at a lower price point. Whether you want to manage lights, locks, cameras, or intricate multi-step automations for a fully hands-free experience, Homey Pro makes it happen with style and ease. Donât think twice â this hub will take your smart home to the next level!

Yes itâs expensive but Iâm willing to pay more for rock-solid performance.
Iâve been using the Homey Pro for a few months now, and I have to sayâitâs one of the most powerful and versatile smart home hubs Iâve tried. The setup was surprisingly smooth, and I love that it supports so many different protocols (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more). Unlike other hubs that lock you into a specific ecosystem, Homey Pro gives you the freedom to mix and match devices from different brands, which is a game-changer if you already have a bunch of smart home gear. The automation capabilities are where this thing really shines. The Homey Flow system makes it super easy to create complex routines without needing to be a programmer. Iâve set up routines that adjust my lights, thermostat, and security system based on time, motion, and even weather conditionsâall from one app. The interface is clean and intuitive, which is a huge plus.Performance-wise, itâs been rock solid. The response time is quick, and I havenât run into any connectivity issues. I also appreciate that it works locally, so even if my internet goes down, my automations still run. That said, itâs not the cheapest option out there, and it might feel overwhelming if youâre just getting started with smart home tech. But if you want a powerful, future-proof hub that gives you total control over your smart home, Homey Pro is absolutely worth it.Would I recommend it? 100%âespecially if youâre a smart home enthusiast who wants everything to work together seamlessly.

Great product but needs more compatible devices
This is potentially a great product with awesome flow creations easy to create. Homey needs to add much more brands and gadgets to its App store. I was very excited to get this product but my excitement is gone because i can’t add devices of my choice. In fact I’m hardly using it with only one flow and that too sometimes doesn’t work as intended.

Regret buying it. Please read before making the same mistake I did.
I recently bought a new home in June of 2023 and immediately started converting everything to smart tech. As anyone who has done this knows, this means ending up with devices controlled/linked to multiple apps/protocols.I watched all the social media influencers videos about Homey Pro and thought it would be my best option by far for me. But it most definitely wasn’t!Most of my devices (Tuya, SONOFF/Ewelink controlled) do not have legit Homey Pro apps. When I went to the Homey forums for assistance/guidance, what I discovered is basically almost all of the community app creators/coders have abandoned Homey and gone back to Home Assistant and all of their community Homey apps are now just abandoned and not being upgraded/updated. At this point, there is literally one guy on the forums who tries to assist and no one else. When it come to SONOFF devices, they claim to have an official app, but it has next to no devices added and when I reached out to them (via email) to ask them to add my SONOFF T5 TX Ultimate smart switches (I have over ten of them in my home), they told me it wasn’t on their list of what they are adding and they wouldn’t add it any time soon. They do not have working apps or community creators/coders to add Tuya devices, and even when they claim to have an “official” app like for SONOFF, it’s very limited to a handful of devices and they refuse to assist in adding new devices when a customer makes a request. In addition, reaching directly out to Homey Pro is completely useless, they never reply. Sadly, they have taken advantage of sending their products to many social media influencers for review and received less that completely honest/educated reviews which clearly miss lead buyers like myself and the many more dozens who have taken their time to leave similar reviews/warnings.I have so many projects going on with my new home and life so I made the mistake of not opening and setting up the Homey Pro right away and by the time I realized I had been scammed, it was too late to return it :(.

I tried to integrate my home and a lot brands work with Homey Proâ¦it misses yet the brands in Americaâ¦.its because I returned it but in my test the technologies I can integrate worked very wellâ¦the only thing is when I remove the internet and close the app, it was NOT possibly to reconnect locally but if we leave the app open, all will work locallyâ¦

Tried setting it up, would not connect to wifi.Retrying multiple times, finally got it to connect but stuck infinitely at updating software prompt. Disappointed and have started my return.

I wanted to like and move forward with the Homey Pro and use it to replace my old Smartthings hub. It seems solid, heavy and robust. However, when I tried to integrate into my existing home ecosystem there were unfortunately a number of devices it does not yet support. I gather that they are trying to close the gap on missing North American devices but they are not there yet. Also, it seems that their main focus is on Zigbee and Matter, unfortunately I prefer z-wave devices over zigbee devices but that is a personal choice. After paying $600 for a hub I am not going to dish out a bunch more cash to get a developer to close those gaps for me. I returned the Homey Pro hub and went with Hubitat.
