Easy smart switches
These switches were easy to install. Just make sure you have a neutral at the box. The were easy to set up and connect with the app and then to link to alexa. They function as expected they look good and adjust the brightness manually or using voice with alexa devices with no lag. They are reliable with alexa while you have internet but if your internet goes out you have to use them the old fashion way. Make sure you have dimmable bulbs.

Physical installation was easy. (Obviously, it does help to be comfortable doing basic electrical work.) Each of the Kasa dimmers I installed was easily identified by the Kasa app on the first try. The app is friendly and will walk you through the wiring but also lets you skip all the directions if you don’t need them. Since then, they’ve been working flawlessly.I picked the Kasa dimmers over other makes because I felt they best matched the other decora switches in our home. I have no intention of replacing them all, so they need to look right together — the ones we have installed so far are working flawlessly with Alexa routines to automate outdoor lights with switches at the front door. OH… and you can turn off the light on them — I left just one strategically selected dimmer light on all the time so it’s easy to find at night. (You can see which one that is in the photo.)I also installed two more at the front door for pot lights and the chandelier to (1) match, and (2) provide some dimming because otherwise the chandelier is really bright… and these cost no more than a traditional mechanical dimmer switch so it’s a “no brainer”.My ONLY complaint is that the faceplates that comes with these are REALLY tight fitting. Removing them right out of the box is tough enough – I can’t imagine removing one when it’s on the wall. However, I have used these Kasa dimmers with standard multi-switch decora wall plates so I may never know if the Kasa faceplates are as immovable as I expect.Overall, VERY happy with these after a month or two of use.
